In fact, on the trip back from Blackpool I bought a copy of the Independent on Sunday as it was the only paper I could find that didn't have any mention of this non-story on the front page (thus confirming my opinion of the Observer).

Pointless intrusive gossip.

The same as I don't really give a stuff how much the Beckhams earn or what their new baby's sex might be or what stupid name they are going to give it, I don't really care whether Steve Bing is Liz Hurley's baby's dad, or what Anastacia, (or any other half dressed silly bint) wore to pointless award ceremony x,y or z.

There are far more important and serious issues in the world, and to be honest, in my own life - who cares about a load of pointless celeb's??? NOT ME!

Agreed regarding the front-page inclusion of the non-story (the Independent on Sunday featured it as part of a wider piece on World Cup build up on page 3, which was still too much I think), but their Drugs Uncovered supplement this week was excellently done, so not a complete waste of money.

And the "story" in general: Why?

Don't give a damn. All I care about is that Sven gets us through the World Cup!

Okay, off topic I know, but here I must disagree with you. Personally I definatly care what is wore, no so I can access what the designers have done, but because I feel what people wear does reflect their personality. For example, every year at the oscars Judi Dench wears a very elegant, pleasant dress, others dress like tarts, I think it reflects what kind of person Judi Dench is... but I could be wrong? Nah!

I didnt even know about it until this morning when Mum asked if i thought poor ulrika would be dumped again.

Apparently it's been in all the papers since last week. Must have skipped those articles 'cos i knew nowt about it.

Apparently its all VERY serious and important!

Englands opening match is against Sweden and some people are concerned in case Ulrika is a Swedish spy and is only after his tactical match-winning plans!

Hmm, not sure why they 'deserve' each other in the sense you mean. They're people you don't know so, if being together makes them happy, all power to them

And, as far as Sven is concerned, I've never seen him publicly behave in any way other than a professional and a gentlemen who dropped a convicted thug from the England squad and helped the squad qualify for the World Cup and did so in a gracious and humble manner.

So, the 'revelation' that he may have been sleeping with Ulrika kinda gets met, by me, with an indifferent shrug. Now, if he was married when he did this, that would be another matter...

So what? Really... so what? And so what whether he's married, not married, whether she's married, single, all together or not at all? So what whether they're doing it two handed, one handed, look no handed?? Basically - if it's true - it's two people doing to each other what people the world over do, there's no mystery, no consequences of earth shattering proportions, it only affects a handful of people none of whom are personally known to the millions of voyeurs - sorry, readers - who get off on this type of non-news; and it's boring. Very, very boring. And we're encouraging shoddy journalism by even talking about it, so I'll go and finish my glass of wine and read the latest updates in Eastenders
