Another rock star bites the dust..........
R.I.P. Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) One of my favourite "grunge" bands as I was growing up and their 1992 "Dirt" album is a classic. He was found in his appartment on Friday evening but had been dead for about 2 weeks, which makes me a little sad when someone with his high drug dependancy didn't have friends around to check on his well being. Glad I had the chance to see them live several times

That's SUCH sad news. And I can't believe he was dead for so long before they noticed
I thought the press reports were saying he'd been dead for seven days??... still, its sad news indeed....
And another sad passing i found out about a couple of days ago was the rock drummer Randy Castillo... he played for Ozzy a few years back and more recently in Motley Crue. He passed away from cancer on March 27th.

Also, Christopher Price the BBC's Liquid News host was found dead yesterday aged only 34 ..
I've just heard about this He was one of the best presenters on TV and I used to watch Liquid News whenever I could
This really upset me - the first celebrity death I've shed a tear over since River Phoenix.
I was just playing their Unplugged album on the Friday, and then got a mail with this news on Saturday. Although it wwas hardly suprising, given his much publicized drug problems, I was still really upset. I loved Alice in Chains - Layne had such a special voice. As T said, so sad that noone bothered to check in on someone who so obviously needed watching over.

Ozzy doesn't seem to have much luck with band members called Randy does he? Randy Rhodes, a brilliant guitarist for Ozzy, died an untimely death some years ago.

Again, sad news.
All the above, terrible news. So much talent now lost to the world.
Deepest condolences to fans, friends and families involved.
