reading leeds fest bill
well for those who r gonna be goin, i was but since im now gettin a flat up in toon thats that idea out the window, plus half of the band shave already playered there so meh!
it goes kinda like, in august
23 reading, 24 leeds, has strokes, pulp, weezer and white stripes
23rd leeds only Guns n roses headline ONLY leeds tho, prodigy
24 reading 25 leeds, foo's, muse, ash, andrew wk, sum 41 less tahnm jake,
plus slipknot, incubus and nofx are expected to be announced as playing as well, for more stuff go to the nme site

yeah from what ive heard the last few gigs theyve done have been mostly full of old stuff and some new stuff thrown in, dont know what the new stuff sounds like tho

Yay! The whole thing's gonna be fantastic! Even better than last year! I'm so glad the Strokes are gonna be there again, missed em last year and could kill myself for being so stupid. Most looking forward to Pulp

my only prob with the line up is theres only 3 bands so far i wanna see. guns, incubus and the prodigy, i've seen all the others! so is it really worth the mony?!

Yep they still play the a lot of the old stuff. And it's supposed to sound great, not the same as the original band, but great non the less. All the guys in the new band are competant session players and have no trouble getting to grips with the music.
The new guitarists are Robin Fink (ex NIN) and "Bucket-head".

Bucket-head - an extremely tall guy from California who studied under Paul (racer-x/Mr.Big) Gilbert and who is a superb player. He just wears a KFC bucket as a hat!!! He was very ill a little while ago which lead to the previous shows being cancelled. He's also tipped to replace Wes Borland in Limp Bizkit.
He even has a custom shop Jackson flying V in the KFC red and white stripes

Jane's Addiction, Foo Fighters, Guns N'Roses, The Offspring & NOFX (one of my favourite bands ) As much as I hate the whole dirty camping thing and getting muddy I'm definatly going to this. I can always stay in a travelodge and not get into the spirit of it all 
Looks like it will be Leeds unless Guns n' Roses do Reading too.

I havent stopped smiling since i saw the announcement, Offspring!!!!!!!!YEY!!!! So happy!!! So its off to Leeds then, Mud and dirt and general mingyness here we come!!!

Ok, I'm now kinda excited, kinda wary. I had tickets to see G'n'R in Manchester last summer, but the tour got postponed till winter. I was then gonna see them in winter in London, but the tour got cancelled completely!
So now, even though I hate festivals (I can't stand camping at the best of times), I'm now tempted to trek up to Leeds for this as it's a very cool line-up. But if G'n'R pull out again I'm just gonna be so urinated off and it'll spoil the whole weekend. So ....... hmmmmmm. Flustered.

Apparently tickets for the Saturday are £43.50. Tickets for the whole weekend are £95.00

Well... the other 4 members, Slash, Izzy, Duff and Matt, recently re-united for the "Randy Castillo Benefit"
I nabbed this blatantly from another site, that nabbed it blatantly from another site that nabbed ....etc.
at Randy Castillo Benefit....
Hollywood rock 'n' rollers got a special treat Tuesday night (April 29) during the Randy Castillo benefit show at the Key Club when the '90s-era Guns N' Roses lineup, sans Axl Rose, reunited onstage with guest vocalists including Buckcherry singer Josh Todd, Aerosmith (news - web sites)'s Steven Tyler, and Cypress Hill's Sen Dog.
The band--consisting of ex-Guns guitarist Slash and Gilby Clarke, bassist Duff McKagen, and drummer Matt Sorum, plus Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson--played a short but blistering set that included Guns classics and some choice cover tunes under the name Buck N' Roses (and/or Cherry Roses depending on who you asked).
The set opened with GN'R's "It's So Easy," followed by the Sex Pistols anthem "God Save The Queen," Rose Tattoo's "Nice Boys Don't Play Rock 'N' Roll" (a GN'R live staple), and Buckcherry's hit "Lit Up."
Sen Dog, who also fronts a metal band called SX-10 on the side, joined in for a roaring version of Guns' smash "Paradise City," rapping the second verse and bouncing around the stage with glee.
For the final number, the band introduced Tyler, who lead them through a spirited rendition of Aerosmith's "Mama Kin," another Guns live staple. Tyler hugged the former Gunners as they left the stage with smiles.
This was probably as close to a full-scale Guns N' Roses reunion as can be expected, though the former bandmates have shared stages together in recent times in various configurations.
Duff's band Loaded jammed with Slash on "It's So Easy" a couple months back at its Los Angeles House of Blues show, and Gilby Clarke 's weekly jams at the Cat Club have attracted the likes of Slash, Duff, and even reclusive frontman Axl Rose (though not at the same time). Duff also played bass on former Guns guitarist Izzy Stradlin's last three solo albums and has rounded up Slash to join in for the next one.
