I am a secretary (no wonder i wasn't more of a snob - actually, just saying that is quite snobby, isn't it? ).

I will live in a pretty villa, have 2 servants and spend my time shopping and campaigning for women's rights. That bit sounds OK - especially the shopping

I have a tale about the shoes (and no i dont judge people by their shoes). The day before I went to visit a customer my car broke down in a horrendous thunderstorm. It was in the middle of a major road, near a blind spot, and I had to get it out of the way to avoid obstructing the traffic, so I got out and pushed the car onto the side of the road. There were torrents of water flooding down the road, up to my ankles. My shoes were completely ruined.

The next day, all I could do was pick a pair of my old shoes which were extremely tatty. I was worried cos I knew I was meeting this customer, but I consoled myself and thought "Nobody will even notice...whose gonna look down there?"

So I toddled off to the meeting, and when I arrived met my customer. During the meeting, the senior person involved (ie the decision maker) at the customer's pointed out my colleagues shoes, which were spotless and shiny, and said this was fantastic. He then went onto say how the first thing he judged people by were their shoes. My feet were retracting under the table and I just wanted to sink into the ground...
