Tried playing rhythm guitar back in the mists of time, but was never any good. Personally I blame it on my overly large fingers...

Do have a bass guitar, but haven't put in the effort I need to into it, which is one of the many things I need to address this summer (along with getting a motorbike licence).

Truth is I don't get that excited about particular models of guitars. Yeah, Gibson make some fantastic guitars, but I couldn't tell the difference between a Fender copy and the real deal. As for those horrible 'Flying V' things ..

However, a fretless bass - now that really is a sexy instrument ... *drool*

I have a 6-string bass which I can kinda play, but I basically haven't played it for years so I'm very rusty. The trouble is I have a very short attention span so I go through phases of being really keen, and then I just move on to something else and I can't be bothered with it.

But guitars are cool!

I have a guitar, it's a 3/4 steel strung acoustic.

It's gennerally referred to as the "OCS guitar of death" as it has an Ocean Colour Scene sticker on it (not my choice)

It's 4 yars old & has never been restrung, so it usually lasts halfway through someone bashing out a levellers song before going out of tune.

Well I currently have 4 - a Strat, an Ovation accoustic, a looney-locking-trem-single-humbucker Contemporary Strat and a Yamaha 4 string bass. I play them all - going through phases as to which is my favourite. But still, I would dearly like to add to the collection.

I've been looking for a through-neck jobbie with a flame maple finish for, like, ever... and when I did find one (it was a Jackson if my memory serves) I was feeling a bit broke and didn't buy it...

I also need a Les Paul with a AAA top. It's not the worlds greatest guitar in the same way a classic car can be pretty crap compared to its modern counterpart... but I need one.

Also want a 12 string accoustic for lazy strumming

yeah i have a crappy fender strat reclica but its ok as i'm not really into then and i can sorta play it reasonably sometimes, but i want what sussan has, its a thingy rickenbacker or something and theres only 3 in the world evidently.

I luuuuurrrrve guitars. I have been playing since i was 6 years old . I stood outside this shop for two hours just looking at this shiny red guitar signed by this famous guitarist (though i can't remember who it was now )

I have two accoustics at the moment, and I'm hoping for an electric one for my brithday, so if anyone has any ideas on what the best one is, i'll be grateful

I've got 4

My first is a crappy Strat copy which I bought when I was a student, that has done me proud over the years.

This led me to buy a 12-string acoustic which I can't really play very well, but I just wanted it OK.

Anyway, when I moved to Bristol many years ago I was looking around for a band to play in, and met up with a bunch of guys who needed a bass player. So I joined their band and got myself an Aria Pro II 4-string. This is still my main instrument. I am a bass player!

Recently however, and as previously mentioned in an RTT21 post, I bought myself a black 7-string Ibanez. This is possibly the coolest thing I've ever owned. Am I sad?

I've always been tempted to learn the guitar, but I never seem to get around to it.

I play a far cooler instrument anyway, the Sax.

Really want to learn to play, but I'm not really going to have the time over next couple of months. I think its going to have to sbe something I invest in for Uni !

I have been drooling over guitars for a while, but I have no idea what would be a good one to get or anything ! I'd have to get it re-strung too as I'm a lefty.

It's rumoured that the best of the best of the best electric guitars, that are available to the public, are the David McNaught Signature Series available for the price of a decent second hand sports car. Failing having Bill Gates as a father, most manufacturers have come a long wasy in recent years, so there's something decent to suit all pockets out there these days. Your local shop should be able to set you up with what you need, or I'll gladly come down south and trail you around 100s of guitar shops one weekend

i started playing when i was 8, was in a big consert thing when i was 12 and then found my pleasures in the background of the msuic bizz so i dont play very much these days

i have 2 accoustics and an electric which is about 40 years old and can't hold the tune anymore bloody lovely guitar tho. i also have a 5 sting bass thats black and purple and yummy but my friend used it for his band so i never get to play

<sigh> I tried and tried, I really did, but I just couldn't get the hang of doing two different things with my hands at the same time (and no nudging and winking, you at the back!). You should have seen me try to play the drums!
However, if I had been born with any hand-to-hand co-ordination at all, I'd be a Les Paul girl. Either glossy black, or that gorgeous sunburst one of Slash's. Mmmmmm!

I have my bass - which i love!!! It's not the best make "Academy" and is kinda rubbishy but i adore it It's typical four-stringer, no pickguard, 2 pickups and all black

I would really like to own an accoustic bass mainly so i could make comparisons and i think they're very cool!

I'm about to sell both my guitars and my amps. Having just moved back in with my parents, there just isn't room and I'll never play them again anyway. Being girly in that way, I value my long nails too much. And I was never really that good, although I did work in a really fabby guitar shop for a year when I was 18. I once restrung George Harrison's guitar - I suppose that's my claim to fame!
My problem was that I just didn't have the patience... if I couldn't play like Brian May within a year, I wasn't interested!

Ooooh, guitars. Niiiice. I haven't been playing as long as CK though. I've been playing guitar since I was about 11, and bass since I was 13. I taught myself, which explains why I'm not the greatest player but I still looooove my guitars.

My first one was a red Tanglewood, which I've since gven to my brother. I now have the guitar of my dreams: a 50s surf green Fender Stratocaster. Maple neck. Mmmmmm.

My dad has a '57 Strat, a Telecaster, and a Takamine acoustic which I occasionally use, but my green strat is my favourite.

My bass is a Squier P-Bass, not the poshest, and CERTAINLY not the most expensive bass, but it sounds nice, so it'll do. It's quite neck heavy actually. When I first bought it, I was VERY little (as opposed to being QUITE little now), and if I let go of the neck it would tip over and the headstock would smash against the floor. Oops .

I have a bit of a problem with guitars unfortunately. My hands are REALLY small so I've had to come up with my own special way of playing, cos I can't play the conventional way. It's a bit embarrasing really, I get people who've had lots of posh lessons saying "oh no, that's not the right way of playing". But hey, it works for me


So to answer your original question, Mon, yes I am into guitars.

I want a BC Rich Warlock next. Then a Tom Delonge Signature Strat, a Mark Hoppus Signature P-Bass, a couple of Gibsons and maybe an Ibanez, then I'm done. Probably .
