Mmmmmmmmmmmm Guitars!!!!!

I've got a purple squier strat currently with the g string broken. oops!

My ideal guitar though would be like Jerermy Popoff's (from Lit) in the Lipstick and Bruises vid (fender, black, blue flames), but as a stratocaster rather than telecaster. Mmmm...

*goes off in day dream*

I've played for about 10 years now, but I've never been one for spending lots of money on guitars.

Currently I have an actually rather nice Washburn electric that I picked up 2nd hand ages ago, a cheap but ok bass, and most recently, a lovely Taylor acoustic, which at £330 is the most I've spent on an instrument. But it's fantastic.

If I was gonna spend a load of cash, I'd probably go for a Gibson ES330, cos they're cool..

Well i'm a drummer at heart (6 year circa), however i also happened to pick up the guitar around 4 years back in the hope of one day capturing the image represented by Mr.Cobain a.k.a. idol... on stage. My band Skindrill are predominantly guitar, my music taste is too... yet, playing it myself just never really hit home... anyone whose multi may understand.

Anyway as instruments go, the most accomplished guitar i've been able to play is the Gibson gothic explorer; it's like a feather, yet chugs away like a locomotive. Heavy on the riffs, light-load on the solo's... it's probably the one for me if i could someday fork out that £700 price tag. Other than that i used to have a Ibanez acoustic that I’d someday like to reclaim… regrettably i sold it for a bucket of crabs and a fruitstick. Go figure...

You've got Denmark Street and Chandlers in London, Machinehead in Hitchin, Percy Priors in high Wybcombe, The Oxford guitar Gallery, Sound Control in Birmingham, Sounds Great in Manchester, and Music Ground in Leeds. These all spring to mind merely within the space of typing this in a feasible geographic order.

Rose Morris in London is quite good too. And Gamlins in, um, either Newport or Cardiff. I forget. Good for Straps, which I collect.

Rose Morris is on Denmark Street, so great minds - track down great guitar shops?!?!?

And Surf Green is perhaps the best colour for a Strat. (especially a maple necked one.)

TOTALLY. I don't think there's a single colour I'd rather have.

Used to learn classical guitar in school - wished i'd kept it up - all the chicks love a guitarist, although i do have a mean singing voice!
