They are Tom Delonge's Brainchild (From Blink 182) There's an article on them in this weeks Kerrang too.

THey're more heavier than Blink, and just to say Blink have NOT split up!!

It's also got Travis Barker (Drums, Blink 182) and someone else on bass and another Guitar.

They're quite different to Blink. But i think Linz will know a LOT more

Boxcar Racer looks fun but don't bands normally have an excuse when they break up they have something else to do such as "want to persue other things such as my solo career or the management of other bands".

I quite like the track I heard (Forgive me, I can't remember the name), it reminded me a lot of 'Stay Together For The Kids'. I quite like the heavier sound too. Although I'm sure Blink-182 will be around for a lot longer yet. I must pick up this weeks copy of Kerrang too.

On a sidenote, has anyone heard the people trying to imitate Slipknot on the Kerrang channel? It hilarious!

Boxcar Racer is Tom Delonge and Travis Barker's side project, true. Tom wrote all the songs and plays guitar and bass on most of the tracks. Live they are joined by David Kennedy on guitar and Anthony Celastino on bass. They played a series of shows at small US clubs before blink set out on the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day.

The album is out on May 20th and FG will be happy to know that Mark Hoppus sings on one of the tracks. Rumour has it that Jordan Pundik (of New Found Glory) also lent his vocals to one song.

The song is called I Feel So. I've heard only two tracks of the album, I Feel So, and a song called All Systems Go. In my personal opinion All Systems Go is the better of the two though I'm sure someone will disagree with me when they hear it (it's always the way )

As far as I can tell, the release date (Not sure if thats US or UK though) is 20th of May...ie next week. And from the site I looked at it's for a tenner delivered (Ok, £9.99 if you want to split heais ) from play.com.

Off on a slight tangent, but Mark Hoppus just got his new Signature bass from fender revealed of this year's "Frankfurt Musik Messe" the music manufacturer's European trade show.

Available in Shell Pink and Seafoam green from what I've seen, a production version of his custom shop basses.
