Your idea of a perfect evening.
OK, so I was thinking the other night (gasp!). anyway, I was thinking about what I like doing in the evenings. What my ideal evening is.
Now I've been to the balls and the posh restaurants and eaten the caviar (Egh!) but it occurred to me that my favourite thing to do is probably one of the cheapest.
Having a few friends over (or a boyf), watching a movie and eating a take away. Guaranteed not to cost more than £15!! and no posh frocks required.
So, what's your ideal evening? does it take money for you to enjoy yourself, do you like the posh restaurants and looking all glam or do you like the simple things like me?

That's a tough one. There's apart of me that agrees completely about the evening in, videos and a take-away and in truth I think that's my fave too, especially if it's chinese food
I also like the "Dinner and a Movie" thing (I can be romantic, honest)
However I also love (and miss) evening band practices, loud guitars, cheesy rock music, pizza and donuts.
Things that are my idea of hell are smoky pubs, and friends of friends parties, where I don't know anyone, the music sucks and complete strangers ask for a lift home and crash space.

It really depends on my mood.
If I'm in a 'i hate the world, it sucks and i don't want to speak to anybody' mood then my perfect evening is chucking evrybody out of the house and having a long hot bath with champagne and candles and nice smelly stuff then curling up in bed under fresh sheets with a good book.
If i'm in a 'i love everybody isn't life great' mood then i love to get dressed up and go out on the town with the girls. (As long as i don't get too drunk, then it usually desends into the worst-night-ever <insert comic book guy voice at will>
But for the inbetweeny days (of which there are a lot) i do agree with Cat. Movies and a takeaway rule coz its cheap and you don't have to dress up if you don't want to

Dinner and a movie is good if the company is good (if you get stuck with the nerd/bimbo/jock from hell then it can quickly decend into a nightmare.
I suppose the same can be said of any evening. If the company sucks then the evening sucks. If the company's good then the evening's good. If i'm the company then the evening's fantastic
My idea of a perfect evening? Not sure.
Part of me wants to answer having a bunch of mates round, ordering pizzas and having lots of home made dips with suitable edible dipping bits. With a soundtrack of my favourite music merged with the playstation making its usual racket. And preferably with that special someone also in the room.
Or (as I suggested in one of the game threads) transport that to a village pub; replace the playstation with pool, and my record collection with a kicking jukebox dominated by our posse.
Or move us all into my back yard; get some barbies going, and some acoustic music being played by some of the local bands I know. Plus a surprise appearance by Doves and Starsailor...
Can we get into the realms of fantasy?
Maybe I'll just leave it there for now.

I love to spend an evening at home with my other half (pretty much of a rarity ): watch tv, cook a nice meal, demolish a couple of bottles of wine, and usually end up talking until 3am.
But I also like an evening in a nice local pub: the sort where there's good beer and good company, then wander home with a takeaway, or even to find a stew waiting in the oven
Those are probably the top two

I really think it depends on my mood, and also what I'm doing, and who I'm with.
I love a girly romantic type video with a mate and a bottle of wine, or sitting in the garden on a warm summers evening, having long rambling conversation with a mate and a bottle of wine, or down to the village pub with a mate and a glass of whatever. (sense a common theme there?)
I quite like cooking for people so the take-away thing isn't so important.
Or the evening on my own with a scary face pack on, painting my fingernails and of course - a glass of wine!
Chilled is my favourite mode though!
Mood being the subject here, I agree.
I totally love collapsing into a clean sheeted bed with a good book, mobiles turned off. Just me time! .
But I did the whole dinner and a movie thing the other night with my boyf. I have to say, I quite enjoyed it. Especially as he paid for dinner, but me not believing in the silly tradition of blokes pay for everything paid for his cinema ticket. I have to admit I did fall to becoming a pathetic female, during the not so scary Panic Room I pretended to be scared and screeched like a female just so I could huggle my bf! .
But I definetly think a perfect evening is a girly night in with my mum and sister watching Friends and Sex in the City and having a yummy Chinese, all diets aside! Scary to say this, when my sis goes off to uni, I will miss her!

TONIGHT: surf the net, shower, eat chicken and mushroom pie and chips, watch Buffy, Angel and Scrubs! And eating icecream.
But on another night I might feel like going for a posh meal. or to a ball. or the cinema etc etc

I've had my perfect evening a few times before. It involves being with a really gourgeous bloke as well as a few mates and staying up long into the night drinking, chatting and laughing. I'm doing this on Saturday actually except minus the gorgeous bloke bit
Either that or going to one of those comedy nights that includes a meal and lots of booze

I don't know about The Perfect evening... but beer followed by curry is a favourite... as is beer and dancing... or even beer and, erm, beer... I see a pattern emerging...
I'm not that sad - G&T will do just as well

You can't beat Thursday viewing at the moment and I had ice cream too

I wouldn't want my perfect night to be pre-planned, I love the idea of being spontaneous. To be taken out somewhere for a wonderful steak and chip meal with a few glasses of wine and a huge choccie dessert. Then to sit by the river and snuggle up watching the swans and boats go pass. And then to be told that I don't have to go home and I can kick my shoes off in a clean hotel room with no magazines or dvds thrown about and just have a relaxing back massage. And then not having to rush out to work the next day and just lounging about giggling.
Hmmmm a perfect evening???
Well, I suppose to have Len at home and not working would be a good start, baby Georgia sound asleep or better still with Aunty for the night, then lots of "quality" time with hubby
We rarely get 5 mins to ourselves these days, so when we do get the odd evening together its sheer bliss - doesn't matter if we're home in front of the telly, or out having a meal.... just being with him is enough
/me goes off from soppy mode now before I get lynched

It really depends on my mood.
If I'm in the quiet retiring kinda mood, I'd like to sit in, watch a flick, some pizza, beer and just chill in front of the TV.
Now, the mood that's a little more active (no..not that kind of active ) I'd like to again sit in, close my eyes and have my music blaring in my ears. I'm a big believer in loud music. I mean c'mon, there are some tracks that were just not meant to be played quietly. I'd like to go out and see some more live acts as well, and hopefully that will happen in the next few months...
