She could have cable
Does Liz have Sky???
Before I get into this i just want to point out that this is more like the sort of question that Spike would normally ask. I'm now worrying that I might of caught whatever he's got...maybe it's contagious
Anyway onto what I wanted to ask..after walking past Buckingham Palce on Friday night I couldn't see a satellite dish...I was just curious whether The Queen has Sky or not?? Do Phillip and Liz sit in the house watching re-runs of The A-Team and Knight Rider like the rest of us or are they stuck with the bowling on BBC2??? Is Liz so tight that she won't get Sky installed or can she not blag it of us peasants??
Okay thats it all out..thats been bothering me since Friday

Television is for plebs so she won't have it
I know that Liz and Phil are rather partial to a bit of Classic FM though.
Just a thought on the dish front - Its probably round the back of the castle disguised as a corgie or something!!
Spikeitis sounds like a good name for your medical condition Milky

If she had cable or Sky, wouldn't they be braggin' about 'by Royal Appointment'?
Nah, she's too busy training the Corgis to see off the revolting peasants, in preparation for my planned armed insurrection, to be watching America's Dumbest Criminals.

yep, i read somewhere once they get cable channels, and do often watch some weird things. you'd probably be surprised at what they could watch, it hink they were quite fond of live tv when it was on, now that was classic tv, bunny bingo, the news bunny in that soap, the bikini weathergirl and emily booth often stripping off and stuff not that i'd watch that sort of thing anymore.
yes they do! (Grandma ex housekeeper for one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting.)

Wow cool Barbara! Btw- Can somebody tell me what lady in waitings do? And why on earth are they called Lady in Waitings??
Or possibly even Ladies in Waiting. But yeah, what are they waiting for?

to be summoned to do something exciting I would imagine
As strange as it sounds I can't imagine the Queen or Prince Philip doing anything remotely normal .. I think you get used to seeing them in the public eye so often its hard to think of them kicking off their shoes at home, locking the servants out and having a right old chinwag about the day's goings on
I heard a rumour that the Queen was going to be on Blue Peter for the Jubilee - anyone else heard this?

I've heard that too. I've also heard that she's going to kick off the Jubilee concert onstage somehow...and that Brian May's going to stand on the roof of Buckingham Palace and play God Save The Queen (although since I heard that on Have I Got News For You, I have to add 'allegedly' to that last statement.)
Which sounds cool. Not to mention that Ozzy Osbourne has (again, 'allegedly') been asked to play.
(couldn't decide which smiley best suited the occasion...oh yes, this one would probably fit the bill... Allegedly.)

That's actually true. Been covered all over the place. Almost (and I must emphasise that) makes me want to go, cos it should be amusing.

Ah. I've seen the papers now (ludicrously out of touch, me). Hmm. Could be interesting.
There was a letter in the Grauniad today from some guy from some advertising agency who said that the Queen inviting Ozzy (like she rang him up and said 'Mr Osbourne, one would like you to do a number at one's jubilee bash') meant that she understood the importance of branding and that she knew she should be creating a royal brand or something. Am I alone in saying 'Huh?' If anyone else saw that letter and can explain, please do cos I'm all confused!

It's just bizarre thinking that Q Lizzie has Sky tele. I mean, what do her and Phil do - watch it in Bed? That's just too.. weird... They surely don't do anything _normal_....
i'm still trying to get the concept of calling the queen liz
