Amsterdam is really romantic. It's also really pretty and has some great places to look around. It also has loads of lovely restaurants, pubs and coffee shops
Seriously it's a lovely place to visit. Oh and it's flat too so it's easy on the feet!!

Paris. Cliche, i know but still wonderful

The Lake District is always nice. Ray and I go just about every year for our wedding anniversary. It's nice for touring or sightseeing, and the B&B's won't break the bank

Scotland is a nice lovely scenic place.

A romantic weekend away whats one of those

We were just discussing this for a weekend a couple of weeks hence

Anywhere is romantic if you're with the one you love (yuck!), but the last place we went together was Ludlow - it's pretty, has good food and good pubs (and seriously, if you go there, they make the best sausages ever, so bring some home!!).

Have a good time wherever you go, and *hugs* on the bad week front - if it's anything like the one I'm having you have all my sympathy!

I've never been to Scotland but my in-laws love going on coach trips to there. Someone suggested to them that they try a train trip next time using www.scotrail.co.uk it does some bargain bookings on overnight trips from Euston straight through to wherever you fancy in Scotland. (but keep an eye on the prices as they are one-way)

At least on a train you can spend some quality time together

A romantic weekend for me would be anywhere with Len doing absolutely nothing!!

Mind you the Lake District, Scotland and Wales are all nice.

There was a lovely hotel in Rye (West Sussex) that got quite high marks - Rye is a lovely little 'fishing' village, that due to climate/man made changes is now about 5 miles from the sea!

i've been to Rye, tis nice, i love Kent and places like that but i go there every year, i think if we do go (he's trying to get time off) then we'll tour around Scotland a little, be's been but he was working with a band so didn't see much

Sounds like you're having one of those weeks that can't end quickly enough.

Guess my suggestions for romantic breaks is a little redundant now. And I'd love to sweep you away from it all, but I'm stuck here working all weekend (well, tonight and tomorrow night - same dif), so no can do.

Personally I reckon you'd be better off getting a bunch of mates together and heading down the pub for a weekend session. Or heading off (again with posse of mates) to somewhere like Brighton and going on the rampage.
