Moving.. heed help/adivce
I have decided to move from London to Edinburgh.
Presents my first problem. *grin* The fact that Edinburgh is basically 5 hours north from where I am, means it's not that easy to house hunt on my days off.
Does anyone live up/around there? I'm not asking for much - just a "which areas are nice/affordable" and stuff.

Are you buying or renting? Is it for a new job? Because you could ask if someone in your new workplace could give you some advice on what's handy for work & isn't too seedy.
Websites like fish4.com have rental and house-buying sections, you could get some idea of prices from there.
Find out what the Edinburgh equivalent of the Evening Standard is, and see if they have a website. I know that the Bristol and Birmingham evening papers have links from there web-sites to local estate agencies.

Try having a look at www.upmystreet.com - its a website that gives you info on different areas - perhaps that helps
