This week, i shall mostly be celebrating TROUT

Well, i was watching working lunch today (i have studay leave

) and they sdaid that this week is:

NATIONAL TROUT WEEK

hehehehe

How/Why do they think of all these "National..." weeks???

But anyway, i wish you all good trout and i thought you might like to know

Oh no!! How could I have forgotten about this??? It's a tradition I have, every year during trout week, I'll take a trip to the lakes and hit someone over the head with a herring. I'll have to hurry up and organise something.

I'm not a fish lover so I won't be making any exceptions to loving trout this week

But as for peas - it has to be garden peas everytime

So which is to be celebrated more - the Common Brown Trout or the more exotic Rainbow Trout????

Rainbow Trout tends to be farmed these days so Brown Trout is often better - though we have a friend who goes fishing and occasionally brings us trout he's caught - seriously yummy

I'm a big 'NO' to mushy peas - fresh garden peas for me please. I think there should be some potato as well though, it's not a proper meal if you don't have your carbohydrates!

Although garden peas with mashed potato and gravy does sound very nice!

I do - but I prefer petite pois - with minted new potatoes yummy

I must have been subconsciously inspired by this thread because I have just bought trout for our tea tonight

we aren't having peas though, we're having New Potatoes and Asparagus
