Well, its not really saving someones life, but we were in thw swimming pool once when I was younger, and they had all the floating mats and stuff out. We were with friends and one of the little boys I was with fell off one of the mats in the deep end. He was only young, and couldn't swim well cos he couldn't touch the bottom. He was panicking so I grabbed him and dragged him back to the side of the pool.

Not really that exciting but he seemed to think that I had saved his life...bless him !

I've stopped a little girl from falling off some rocks into the sea once but that's it. I actually felt like "What the hell are her parents doing letting her get into a dangerous situation like that",

I think guys like Firefighters and Police Officers are often the world's true heroes. I'll never forget watching on TV those FDNY guys go into the World Trade Center after it had been hit. They probably knew they weren't coming out, but it was their job to go in, so they went in anyway. I don't want to hi-jack this thread with a tribute to those guys, but their bravery is a testament to great a person really can be.

A few times I've grabbed kids that have fallen on Escalators while the parents were either rushing their children or just not paying attention to what they were going. Afterwards I actually felt quiet sick to realise what could have happened to them

I haven't personally, but an anonymous blood donor saved my daughter's life

i saved a friend of mine from beeing run over my two drunk idiots, they attacked a group of us at our local pub and then tryed to smash into us with their car, i grabed my friend (she's only tiny) and held her against the wall, thankfully the car stopped and didn't hit me...i then procceed to kick their headlights in oh yay for gothboots

I've given blood!

I've stopped children running into the road coz their parent's weren't watching.

I've returned a little boy to the shallow end of a swimming pool - again coz his parent's weren't watching! :roll-eyes:

I watched a guy grab a little girl out of the middle of the road on Saturday - coz her mum didn't want to let go of the buggy - and the little girl wouldn't do as she was told and ran away into the road - big decision that one - buggy or child! :more roll-eyes: Some Parents!!

Feel like a super-hero now - watch out Superman - I'm on your tail - Is it a bird? - well yes I am actually!!!

Blood donor here too.
Gave first aid to a young guy who was knocked out in a post-pub fight one night. Didn't need to give CPR, just made sure he was still breathing, put him in the recovery position, monitored his pulse and kept pressure on his wound. Scalps bleed a LOT, I had my right arm in plaster at the time, got blood all over it. Kept talking to him all though, he was drifting in & out of consciousness. I don't think he'd have died if I hadn't been there, but you just get stuck in though, don't you?

Fortunately I`ve never been in that situation because I`m a bit of a panicker and I dont know how I`d react!

Thats why I have such respect for Firemen, particularly the FDNY ( ) when I saw that footage of the twin towers, and also paramedics, my mates dad is a paramedic and the kind of (insert bad language here) he has to deal with is ridiculous when he is trying to save lives!!!!!
