Well, I didn't get sacked in the end, I got a final written warning.

I know now that he was never gonna sack me in the first place, he was just trying to punish me by making me wait.

He told me, which the personnel manager backed him up on, that it is actually against the law to eat *anything* in a food prep area. No one else I've spoken to has heard of this. What was he gonna do, call the police on me?

Pauline bigged me up as well, telling him he'd be mad to sack me when I'm such an asset to the company, and I'd be sorely missed

Anyway, he's made it clear now, that he's caught 3 people in my department now, and the next person, will be out the door straightaway, so we have all decided to call it a day on the "product sampling" (which feels worse than when I was on slimfast!!!)

The final written warning I got stays live on my record for 12 months and basically if I step outta line in any respect in the next year I'll be taking a trip out of the door. So gotta be on my best behaviour now, and best behaviour sucks!!!!

But, I guess it could have been worse...

Glad to hear it wasn't the worst case scenario come true. Can't say I've ever heard of eating in a preparation area being illegal, but I suppose it could contravene health and safety.

Here's hoping the next twelve months of perfect behaviour aren't too much of a strain...

Ah, if it was a food prep area then it is in contravention of Health & Safety food type laws.

yeah Kitty it is a major big no no eating or drinking in a food prep area (cross contamination and all that) but the training scummy morrisons give must really suck if you didn't get told that at the very beginning of your first shift on the salad bar (management at fault yet again), its the first thing they teach at fast food restaurents - here speaketh the BK and MaccyD Queen

I don't think i wanna buy any fresh food from morrisons ever again.

Good news to hear that the Managers didn't sack you for whatever reason they finally decided on (although seems odd that they haven't mentioned the food prep rules etc )

Shame that you have to be on your bestest behaviour for a whole 12 months ... nothing like paranoia to ruin a year's amount of work If it was me with a final warning over my head I'd probably take it as a sign and decide to job hunt instead of worrying all the time.

Maybe the universal answer to weightloss is for all chocoholics to work in chocolate factories! Believe me, while it seems great to start with, after a while everything, even the *smell* of the chocolate makes you feel queasy!

Ditto with peas, after a couple of months even the sight of them made me feel ill, not to mention what gets removed from the loads at the processing centres.. *shudder*
