Why anyone has done any work over the last two ideas I have no idea. We just beat the Argies!

Now all we need is for Sweden to beat them and they're out of the finals!

I took a passing interest in the score (someone told me at half time, then I did check BBC online for the final score), but I really had no desire to watch the game. Unfortunately, I think those of us untouched by the footy bug are in a reapidly-decreasing minority

Obviously, I kept an eye on the score. I just think that everyone gets over-excited about it all.

Don't care about football, hid in my office during the match but I could tell England won because of the car horns beeping outside. Not been a good week for football-loathing anti-monarchists.....

I too share no interest in football. I mean, take it down to basics, you're watching someone else play sport, wow, get [up] and do it yourself. And before anyone comes back with, "you watch movies, do it yourself", there is a huge difference, because the situations in TV and Movies can't be created in real life, just like camera angels, special effects, music and so on...

I will play football but NEVER watch it!

And you can play to the same ability as an international player?

I don't particularly like football...don't particularly hate it either. I'm quite happy to watch the England games, but I don't get excited about it.

No way. I grew up with footie so I guess thats where I get my obbsession from... Anyways if you get bored you can drool at men in tight shorts.

I seriously get so excited bout these games! I was nearly sick with nerves before our games. And when Arsenal play (my fave team) I get such an Adrenaline rush! For me its the atmosphere of the crowd and the tension of wanting MY team to win.

I think it's more to do with watching your country beat another country rather than having a likeing for Footy.

So on that note Argentina

I've loved football all my life.. Newcastle Utd being my passion. It's the atmosphere in which i was brought up.. my dad is nuts about footie and Newcastle, so's my brother. Before Ray met me, he was pretty uninterested in football in general, then he soon changed his mind

I don't take it as seriously as some people, at the end of the day it is just a game, it doesn't rule my life.

Plus i'm probably a rare woman that doesn't complain when her partner wants to watch Match of the Day/The Premiership (unless it clashed with Angel )

Can totally understand where you coming from Mastermind, I have actually watched a few of the games and to be honest if this if football then im glad im not into it. The amount of cheating that is going off is shocking with players taking dives, So much for Sportsmen.

Oh and the news has been terribly bad this week: Football, Queens Jubilee you wouldnt think there were wars going off according to the news.

Oh, but that's only with India and Pakistan, who cares about that? I mean, nuclear powers close to war, Yawn. Beckham scores in match, WOW, page 1

I don't like football. But I watched most of Friday's game and my god it was good! I came in about half an hour into it and thought I'd watch it for a bit (it beats doing work), and I just got hooked. The excitement when Beckham scored, and the tension and raw nerves as the game drew towards the end .....

I don't think I'm a born-again football fan, but I do see what people get from it.

Whilst I'm not into football I do understand that different people have different obsessions.

We were actually shopping around London whilst the match was on and in fact ended up watching the last 20 minutes or so in a cafe as we happened to stop to get food and every cafe/bar/whatever was of course watching the match.

Afterwards there were several responses whilst wondering through the streets towards chinatown ... everything from cars tooting their horns, to anyone wearing a football shirt slapping hands with a random stranger wearing a football shirt to groups of men gathering outside pubs shouting and stopping people or kicking balls at cars, and one particular pub which had a group of basically idiots crowding in the road banging on cars driving pass or sitting on their bonnets - and also crowding round a fire engine and hanging off the ladders etc

The first few things were nice to see as it showed great unity for a national team - the later ones I'm afraid were you typical lager louts who were seriously frightening anyone walking or driving pass

All this for winning one match? A little bit overboard me thinks
