Truly a sad state of affairs.I'm a huge fan of R. Kelly but like Coolkat says hearing more and more about this is making me think twice.

R Kelly involved in Child Abuse

Grammy winner R Kelly was charged by Chicago police yesterday on child pornography charges based on a videotape that authorities say shows him having sex with an underage girl.
The R&B singer, who lives in Chicago, was arrested on Wednesday, in Florida. He was released on Thursday on $750,000 bond.
"I'm just looking forward to my day in court," Kelly said after landing in Chicago.
Minutes later Kelly, whose songs include Bump 'n' Grind, Feelin' on Yo Booty, and Your Body's Callin', was accompanied by his lawyer Edward Genson to the Cook County criminal courts building. The star seemed calm, and several bystanders shouted encouragement to him.
He left the police station without comment.
Kelly, 35, has denied he is the man in the video. If convicted, he faces 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
"The claims in this case are unfounded," Mr Genson said after the Florida hearing. "The charge is that there's a young lady under the age of 18 on that tape and there isn't."
Kelly is married to a former dancer from his touring troupe. They have two young daughters and a newborn son.

Hmmmmm I'm a little confused , the charge is that there is a young lady under the age of 18 ??? so hence she could be 17??
Is it to do with the legal age for sex in that state then ? as in this Country we all know that 16 is the legal age, and if you look at it like that it isn't really that bad is it ?

Ill wait for more evidence before I decide. Just because hes been accused of it before might mean that someones trying to make a bit of money of him because hes tarnished already.

Agree with Sange, JtB and cat. Celebrities are always easy targets for people seeking attention or bear a grudge for some reason.
Let's wait and see what happens if and when there is a trial.

Heard about this a while ago. The girl on the video is supposedley 14 years old and was an fan that R Kelly met at one of his gigs. How true that is is anyones guess.
Also heard that R Kelly had a secret 'marriage ceremony' to Aaliyaah when she was just 15 years old but again I don't know how true that is.
