I love Cambridge. I live a few miles outside but go there a few times a week. In the summer it's lovely (very green) but a bit drab in the winter. The town itself isn't too bad for shopping and you have to have a punt ride if you get time The weather has been really nice for the past few days.

i love cambridge, go there a lot, lots of bookshops the town centre is great, jsut watch out for the bikes and snobs and you'll be fine

Go buy some fudge from the fudge shop on King's Parade for me. The people in there are mad.

We went for a weekend last November and had a lovely time The only problem was, my other half didn't have his phone with him and we spent half an hour looking for each other in Waterstones

The Prophet was at University there, I'll see if he has any words of wisdom to add

Windy pretty much covers the weather. The rest varies as much as anywhere in England, but at this time of year it should be sunny and hot, if it's not raining. At any rate, it shouldn't be cold.

If you get the chance, you should check out the Fitzwilliam Museum, which is pretty sweet.

I visit the Fitz a couple of times a term - but then it's nestled between the grounds of my college.

It's worth going if you have the time

cambridge is great loads of pubs loads of beer and cheap to boot, but dont go to uni there, they are all a bunch of jumped up tw@s

Some of my friends go to Uni in Cambridge and it was one of my choices too and we're certainly not "jumped up tw@ts"

I don't really think the weather down here is any better or worse than anywhere else

Whilst we had very warm weather last week, RedWitch who's in Lancashire complained she nearly drowned (she was slightly exaggerating apparently )

Its a shame you are coming over on a week night - I don't always finish work ontime and getting down the A14 is hassle I find midweek (the amount of accidents lately doesn't bear thinking about!!!!)

I don't tend to visit/shop in Cambridge that much - everything is spread over a bigger distance than Peterborough. I'm more likely to go to Cambridge when there's a gig on.

I believe there's a Party in The Park coming up soon that's free to go to (need more information - Demona, have you heard about this? The date needs clarifying as either its the Friday 12th July or Sunday 14th July - whenever it is I'll probably be there )

Ok its been established:

Pop in the Park is on the Friday 12th July and is for anyone. (there is a thread in the meets forum if anyone is interested)

Party on the Piece is on Sunday 14th July and is apparently a techno/garage night aimed at 11-17 year olds!!!!

Well i got back to Newcastle at about 8.30 last night..

i ahd a really good time. Cambridge is sooo pretty. We were given a tour around Jesus COllege, Kings, and a couple of other that i've forgotten the names of. WE staye din North Court in the first years rooms...they were pretty icky but hey we were only there for one night. The grounds and buildings are all so nice. We talked to some of the law students and the guy in charge was a lecturer in Law.

Went into the copyright library..oh my god it's HUGE.

I'm still really tired cos i didn't sleep much on the night..giving us 4 way connecting rooms and expecting us to stay in out own was a crazy idea

on a completely unrelated note i just noticed the rolleyes smiley woohoo
