I was good at the 100 metre sprint...I remember being dead chuffed cos there was only one boy that could ever beat mne, and he left to go to another school leaving me to win the sprint 2 years in a row

I'm secondary school I used to do the 200m and the discus...I've always been good at throwing things for some reason

I was always picked for the 1500 metres, cos i was so bad at sprinting, but really good for stamina

i hated sports day i was rubbish at everything, still am, sport was never my thing. anyway you have your sprts day on a sunday? shouldn't it be on a school day?

i used to rock at the egg and spoon race! and no i never used that trick witht eh chewing gum...honest

at secondary school i always came first at the javerlin...

what does all this say about my arms and hands?

I was the queen of the 100m sprint. The only girl better was in my tutor group so I never had to race her (plus she was our long distance champ and got those gruelling 1500/3000m races that I would have come last at).

I won the sprint every year through school (yay me!)

I could have been great, but then the smoking took over, ho hum

This year was our last sports day for our year- don't have to attend in yr 11 due to exams!! YAY!!! Everyone tries to do little things and as our school is split into 3 houses- York, Lancaster and Tudor there is heavy competition. This year I took part in one part of the relay, and only ran a mere 100 m. But I made up for it by inventing a York house cheerleading squad.

Lizzie - same here. It was our last Sports Day as well.

But, i managed to get outta it cause of my pains in my side - shame

However, i'm being punished by being in the House-Speaking competition tommorrow

I dont have Sports Day, but in my old school I did, and i won the hurdles every year

Oh boy, Sports Day. Biggest form of legalised torture the school system ever devised.

Everybody had to go in for something, so I usually volunteered for the 1500 metres cos nobody else wanted to do it and at least I could walk round and have done with it...in sixth form we didn't have to be in it, but were supposed to go in anyway. Me, I skipped off to go to a gig instead. Much more like fun.

Me too! Except in my school it was the potato and spoon race. I guess they didn't want to clear up lots of broken eggs off the track!

Primary school sports days were cool! High school sports days were evil! They got rid of the fun events, and people actually took it seriously. I always did as little as possible.

Actually we didn't. Big old potatoes and regular table-spoons. It just required more skill, which I had by the bucketload! If that was an olympic event I could be a world champion by now! God-damn the person who decided that it wasn't as worthy as the Javelin or the pole-vault!

I was useless at 'Sports Day' in junior school, but then I went to high school & discovered the javelin

Throwing sharp pointy things very hard seems to be a talent of mine

For some reason i was good at the discus But when i was in first school nobody, but nobody could catch me in the skipping race

Oh, and its Joel's sports day next Wednesday, and we're hoping not to miss it this year

I never got a chance to do sports day at infants/juniors, but at secondary school I was great with the shot putt

Now what does that tell you about Welsh Schools

I was also good at the egg and spoon race and also teh obstacle course. This was back in the days when i was like super skinny girl and could squeeze through anything

My school also used to have Rounders Day where teh entire school was divided into 12 teams and we played a huge tornament And then there were rather a lot of Country dancing day which i feel have left me scarred for life

At secondary school i sucked at everything except Cricket (which the girls weren't allowed to play ) Hockey (Which only got played in yuckky weather so wasn't much fun )and discus (which I only realised i was good at in the third year just before I left that school and moved to one that didn't do athletics )

I hated physical sports with a passion so it was really cool that i got a legitimate escuse to skip PE in Year 11
