grass
anyone ever wondered who it was that decided cutting grass is nice? i eman years ago it would have jsut grown really long, so the person who invented the lawnmower people probably thought was an idiot it'd be like people nowadays wanting to...well do something not important. so was there another way to cut grass before lawnmowers and did it take off straight away?

I would think they probably started cutting grass for the hay, seeds etc etc so for food and bedding , probably even back to caveman days for something softer to sleep on than rock.
But then again sometimes I think too much

Its not exactly practical to have really long grass in the garden when you've got kids running around it is ? Plus, like coolkat said, it looks nicer short

And sorry Keeny - but I love the smell of freshly cut grass (even the green variety.. well y'know what I mean) - I just associate it with hot and lazy summer days (mainly because it is never me who cuts it).
