HOW TO TURN DOWN A MAN:
HE: Can I buy you a drink?
SHE: Actually I'd rather have the money.
HE: I'm a photographer. I've been looking for a face like yours.
SHE: I'm a plastic surgeon. I've been looking for a face like yours.
HE: Hi. Didn't we go on a date once? Or was it twice?
SHE: Must've been once. I never make the same mistake twice.
HE: How did you get to be so beautiful?
SHE: I must've been given your share.
HE: Will you go out with me this Saturday?
SHE: Sorry. I'm having a headache this weekend.
HE: Your face must turn a few heads.
SHE: And your face must turn a few stomachs.
HE: Go on ,don't be shy. Ask me out.
SHE: Okay, get out.
HE: I think I could make you very happy.
SHE: Why? Are you leaving?
HE: What would you say if I asked you to marry me?
SHE: Nothing. I can't talk and laugh at the same time.
HE: Can I have your name?
SHE: Why? Don't you already have one?
HE: Shall we go see a movie?
SHE: I've already seen it.
HE: Where have you been all my life?
SHE: Hiding from you.
HE: Haven't I seen you some place before?
SHE: Yes. That's why I don't go there anymore.
HE: Is this seat empty?
SHE: Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.
HE: So, what do you do for a living?
SHE: I'm a female impersonator.
HE: Hey baby, what's your sign?
SHE: Do not enter.
HE: Your body is like a temple.
SHE: Sorry, there are no services today.
HE: If I could see you naked, I'd die happy.
SHE: If I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing.
HE: Where have you been all my life?
SHE: Where I'll be the rest of your life - in your wildest dreams.

These are great
My point is why is it that the guy has to do all the chatting up, and how do you know that is always an attempt to chat up, not just innocently trying to make friends.
And that comming from the Master and teacher of chatting up
by Spike
its coz women are a lot worse at it than men
Hear, hear, Gopher! Always there is the assumption that the guy has to make the first move, but if you don't like this particular guy then it's open season in taking the .. proverbial .. out of him. This is beyond harsh.
As for Spike. No one. No, really, no one is worse than you. I know of no one else who thinks that abusing the target of his desire is a good way to win her over. You really shouldn't make comparitive comments. Sometimes saying nothing really is better than saying something.

Not at all - Women are just a little more subtle when they make the first move thats all

Erm .. no comment.
Yep! Men are like "so can I have your number". Whereas women are very sublte and normally wait for the guy to make the first move.

That's the problem!

Have you any idea how much stress that puts us under? Knowing that, aside from the unhoped for positive response, you could be letting yourself in for some cutting derogative reply. Or just a plain slap. And if you don't make the move then you're a wimp and will spend the rest of your life in an overly woolly jumper proping up the bar in some grud-foresaken local. And what kind of life what that be, I ask you? Huh?
OK, ranting much. But starting relationships is difficult enough without trying to guess whether your would be amour is giving you the eye, or just has grit in her contacts. The problem with subtlety is that it can get mistaken for friendliness or plain disinterest.
I wonder how many women would cope of the social roles were reversed, and women ALWAYS had to make the first overt move?

Jayjay has summed things up, you just don't know what is going on sometimes.
Could end up in situations where you meet up with someone as friends but the other person thought it was a date and they had been asked "out". Can lead to very confused situations especially if you end up seeing this person regulary, then the other person thinks that it is not working because you do not seem interested in them in ways other than a friend. This could be really hard if you did start off as friends with that person, but then fell for them, if the same happened with the other person or they thought they had initualy been asked out you might not find out, or might eventually drift apart, then have it mentioned in a casual conversation years later, realise that you both felt the same things at the time, without having realised it was mutual.
Of course if that happends it may either be too late, as one or both may already have a partner, or you may assume that the other person no longer has those feelings and has moved on, so you say nothing, or don't give a relationship a chance of starting that late.
Seem to be babling again

Not all boys are bad, just most of them especially the ones that hit on everyone, even more so when they are supposed to be already with someone. You may find a decent one somewhere.
