On the egg topic, I don't like eggs (unless they're in cake or biscuits) so I dunno

2 medium eggs into boiling water for 4 1/2 minutes.
Yolks come out nice and runny for the soldiers

right, i have no end of trouble with eggs, see they crack if you put them in boiling water unless you put loads of salt in, so i put them in the water before it boils so they don't crack but they then need more than 3 minutes as the waters not boiled. i either have them way too runny or too hard no amtter what happens but best is put them in the water beforre it boils, when it boils time it for about 2 minutes.

Well the first method went out of the window. I forgot to see when it boiled so it was undercooked Second attempt went into the boiling water for about 4 minutes (it was a big egg so I thought I'd give it longer) and it came out perfect

Putting the egg into cold water, then bringing to the boil is better, cos there's less chance of cracking the shell.

I put mine in cold water and give them 10 minutes once it's boiled. But I only like hard-boiled eggs

Well Ray boils the water first and puts eggs in for a couple of minutes.. i think... (I'm not kidding when i say i don't do the cooking thing) but he does the best soft boiled eggs ever!

The real hard one is burnt pasta,
Heres how I did it
Take pasta put it into a sauce pan and bring to the boil, leave to simmer.
Go make a phone call, queue for 2 hours for a phone in the hall of residence,
Speak on the phone for the 5 minutes you wanted to leave the pasta to simmer for,
Go back to the kitchen to be greeted by a cloud of smoke, a burning smell and throw saucepan into sink,
Throw away Saucepan as it has turned black inside and cannot be scrubbed off.

Join the club, I can stomach them in things. But boiled, poached, scrambled, fried etc... cue projectile vomitting

How about pickled hard boiled, as the ones in jars sold tend to be so expensive i just used a jar that did contain pickled onions or Gurkings and then put hard boiled eggs into that jar.
Now that will gross some people out

I always put the eggs into cold water, and once the waters boiling I start the 3 minute timing.

Yep with the putting them in cold water
About 2 minutes 40 seconds for a medium egg (I use my microwave to time them - put a cup of water in and switch it on - cleans the microwave at the same time!)

For hard boiled - 10 minutes - and then put them in cold water to stop the black ring forming.

I never used to either. I used to be allergic to them, and then somehow I became not allergic to them. It's only very recently I started eating them, but I've never boiled one, only done fried and scrambled!

See I been there when I couldn't eat something for years and then one day I was fine with it I just put it down to being psychological (sp?) maybe a nasty experience when I was little like parents forcing you to eat ya dinner or sumfin.

I used to absolutely DETEST eggs and then I observed the way my brother used to eat fried eggs which looked like fun (eat the white then put the yolk intact in ya mouth so it explodes, my dad hated it I guess thats why I started doing it too) but any other way I'd refuse point blank until I went to America and for some strange reason ordered scrambled eggs (we were at IHOP) and it was THE most stunning/gorgeous thing I had tasted in ages....maybe it was just the way they made it I dunno I still don't eat eggs very often now except when out for dinner/breakfast with my dad but then that's just me being evil.
