Okay must admit I thought Yally was a boy but I'm sure she pointed out to me in chat once that she is a she so i knew before this thread went up.

Another one I had gender issues with was..... Pegasus...thought you were a bloke at first hun and I'm sure someone had to tell me in chat that you weren't

That's cool! To be honest it can be quite fun to have people think you're a girl! It provides an air of mystery!

I used to go into Yahoo chat rooms occasionally, and quite often I'd get blokes sending me private messages and trying to chat me up. Sometimes I'd just say "You do realise I'm a bloke right?" and wait for them to either disappear or say something like "Oh, right. Well, how are you?" and then hold a really awkward don't-really-wanna-be-there conversation.

But sometimes I'd play along for a while and lead them on. Then after a while I'd tell them I was a bloke and wait for their reactions!

Picture of Flowers - I so used to do that too!!! I used to have the nick "Dream~e" on IRC, and everyone thought I was a girl. In the same vain sometimes i'd play along, but once this guy was just talking to me, and by the way he talked, I had no idea he thought I was a girl, it was just normal bloke chat...we were talking about car engines for petes sake.

He didnt seem to be chatting me up or anything, so I really didn't think I was being cruel. Then he said "Wow, you know lots about engines for a girl" and when I told him I was a bloke he went absolutely looney. He went into a riot of swearing, called me everything under the sun, including plenty of things about me being a faggott. Very amusing!!

My Nick on Napster used to be Helen Love (because I had every song by Helen Love in my shared folder).

Each morning when I got into work I would have to clear at least 40 utterly filthy IMs from my screen.
