It's good down there. I used to live near there, and it's good Good luckwith your job or with where your gonna live
What's Twickenham like?
Being form ooop north and also having just about as much sense of geography as Jade from Big Brother I tend to think of London as one big scary whole.
Anyhow, I'm thinking of applying for a job with London Borough of Richmond upon Thames council - The job itself appeals to me a lot but I just wondered what I'd be letting myself in for if I did move down there?

You could do a lot worse... it's a pleasant part of London, but not cheap. The council's just gone Tory after about 18 years Lib Dem so I would imagine it's a bit lively to work for at the moment. Which department?
I'm just across the border in Feltham, where the plebs live.

Twickenham is nice, the pubs in Richmond are great 2.30 am opening, so are a couple of those in Twickenham.
As long as you know people these are nice places to go to, It can be a problem if you don't know people as groups tend to stick together. Just as I am leaving here (well in terms of towns I am in Hounslow but I am in a part of hounslow that is in the Borough of Richmond and is effectivly Whitton) you think about comming this way.
Renting can be expensive but as there is Brunel campuses nearbye (Twickenham and Osterly campuses) and St Mary's, there is some shared housing at affordable rents. But single flats are very expensive.
probably one of the better parts of london to live in and easy to get to London itself, about 30 mins to waterloo.
