worried.........
well last week on the 26th july,i became an auntie again.my brothers girlfriend gave birth after a long labour to baby louis,he weighed 8lb 15.
today,he was rushed to hospital by ambulance as he was shaking,vomiting and had a temperature.the last we heard he was being kept in for 48 hours and having tests tomorrow,i just hope hes okay

I'm sure he'll be fine, he's a healthy weight and babys are, believe it or not such strong little things, because they're so tiny we assume they can't cope. They are extremly vulnerable to tummy bugs, because I believe it is the most immature part of a baby, and even the smallest thing can set off a bout of 'gastroenteritus' (excuse spelling) Which is probably all it is, but because he's so young, the doctors take extreme precautions. I speak as this was the case with my brothers baby, i.e vomiting, shaking, listlessness, pupils dilated the lot, and thats all it turned out to be. Hope he's fine, try not to worry.

I hope your nephew is okay, it must have been terrifying for his parents.
It sounds like a febrile convulsion... when baby's temperature gets so high and they can't cool themselves down. They effectively have a fit, but once they're cooled down they're okay and have no lasting effects..it can happen through simply by being too hot or having an illness, like gastroenteritis. At least in hospital, he's receiving the best care PS..it's surprisingly very common with little ones, despite being terrifying to see

*Fingers Crossed* all is ok with the little one.
Its so horrible seeing them like that, but being in hospital will receive the best care possible

I'm going to have to echo what others have said and say that I hope everything is OK
I had meningitis and septesemia when I was born, so I gave my parents a bit of a scare...if I can get through that, then I'm sure that things will turn out OK
