I got a lot of porn sent to my hotmail account. I set my Junk Mail filter to high and blocked the worst offenders and i haven't been bothered for a while *touch wood*. My freeserve one is spam-free.. i get the occasional mail from the likes of Amazon and CD Wow, but considering we have accounts with both, they're sort of expected.
email harrassment
Over the last couple of weeks I've been getting loads of emails confirming membership and sending passwords of adult sites. At first I thought it was simple junk mail but now I'm not so sure as the junk filters aren't picking them up and they look different from the emails that are obviously junkmail. Everytime I block an address, something comes from a new one. Its driving me round the bend and if it is someone signing me up for these sites then it must be someone I know as its on a email address that I never use on anything I do sign up for.
Telephone harrassment i've had before and i know exactly what to do about that but this just seems even more sinister.
Is there anything that can be done? Should I be papping it or should I just shrug and hit the delete button everytime I log in?

I get soooo much Junk Mail, I've had my hotmail account for about 2 years and I never got it until recently. Porn, credit card cons, savings cons etc. Luckily only get a little porn but its still so annoying. I have to block and filter loads of my mail. Damn Hotmail!
I will confess I did once send a forged email. I'd just read about how to fake SMTP headers and wanted to try it out so I spoofed a message to a friend, supposedly from s.ivanova@command.babylon5.gov.ea (you can guess his interests) and was most amused when he mailed me to ask advice in tracing the source...

I never get any to my other hotmail account and i don't even have a junk mail switched on...it's probably cos i rarely give it out

I've got a million and one email accounts, but one I like is my clara net one, its an ISP I haven't been a member of for about 2 years, but my account is still there! Anyway, that has email "aliases" so that I can put :
anythingiwant@synthetic.clara.co.uk
The great thing about this, is that whenever I sign up with an email addy on a site, I put my address as "nameofsite@synthetic.clara.co.uk" that way, when I get spam, I can tell which site it was that put me on their list! That way, I can filter anything coming to that address if I need to.

Clever I could do that with mine, I'm with Demon and it works the same way. I don't get a lot of spam anyway though, I guess I only sign up to reputable sites

My other half gets loads though, but I think that's because he goes on ebay and posts to newsgroups quite a lot.
never, ever!!!!!!!! reply to a Junk E-mail.
this lets them know u'r e-mail is valid and they can sell it on.
u can reply to some, reputable companies to be taken off the list, but still careful.
never reply to the porn sites/iffy sites u've never visited and never agree, on boards to receive their mailing lists or updates.
mostly just delete it. i do.
