We don't seem to have any flooding announcements here, in Cambs when things flood its normally the same few villages.

We are going through phases of getting heavy warm rain - and then back to the sun.

From the newsclips I've seen the damage elsewhere is dreadful

A few years ago I was at my grandparents house-a cottage in Shropshire, middle of nowhere. It was stormy and the bottom floor of the house flooded.

i was at a friends house on wednesday night,havent been there in ages on an evening.i just got in the door and was told to shut it as water was coming in.i ended up holding the door for an hour.there was about 8 inches of water outside the front door.it came in the house and flooded the entire downstairs but she lives in a bungalow.what made it worse,was that the sewers nearby werent working either so the place stunk.luckily she had a lot of people helping to get the water out,but they still had to cut up all their new carpets.its the second time they have flooded in a year.we felt so sorry for them.

The drain from the yard at the back of the pub has a tree root through it and every time it rains at the moment we have a river running from the back door through to the bar Unfortunately as the brewery are selling the pub in six weeks' time it seems unlikely that they're going to pay to have the drains fixed

Other than that, we are uphill from everywhere else in Oxford so we're generally OK
