Whats your global footprint?

After the discussions on another thread about recycling etc i thought it would be interesting to do this quiz

I was quite shocked to find that if everyone lived like me we'd need 2.3 planets to live on! And I thought i was fairly ecologically sound

I think my score may have been bumped up by the fact that i eat so much meat. However at 4.1 global hectares I did rate better than the average for this country

how did everybody else fare?

A paltry(ish) 3.2 -- loads food, but I don't run a car..

However an (American) friend's results were scary:

Whoops...

Some of the car-related ones are barely-informed guesswork though. Main problem with this quiz is that it places way too high a burden of knowledge on the person taking it.

But couldn't it be argued that the point is to make people acquire that knowledge and understand the implications of their actions and choices?

But I think that's skewed by the fact that I work 30 miles away from home and there are no public transport links to the industrial estate, and that we live in a flat about twice as big as we need because we live over the pub for my other half's job
