OK, so i've been reading a lot about this nurse who had to resign over the phrase "10 little N-ers" in a meeting.

Is this PC gone mad or should she have resigned? (please forgive the absence of her name, you all know how awful i am with names)

This is how i understand it, she was at a meeting, after break some people didnt come back and she said the above phrase meaning like both the nursery rhyme and the agatha christie book, people were going missing.

I personally dont think she should have been made to resign.

1)when she was a child the book and rhyme were about so for her they are cultural references.

2)as far as i know there were no black people there to be offended.

3)she didnt intend the phrase to be an insult, simply a funny quip. (how funny is for you decide)

4) i cant think of another way to word a similar remark. i know the book has now been renamed but i dont know the name so i couldnt have refered to that.

I think she was simply ill advised to use such a word, should have been warned not to do it again and left to continue her work (for which she earnd an MBE).
