Hey Mish - not sure if some of the stuff from the Blasts from the Past Thread can help
Retro Buffet
Help needed!
We are having Liam christened in october, and we have decided this is the ideal excuse for a good drinking session, as you do! (Any excuse)
Anyway, we have the christening, then we all trawl ourselves over to the hall for drinks and buffet, before grandparents do the honourable thing at about 7pm and take the kids off home. How selfish, I digress. The point of my post is, for the buffet, along with the usual quiche and sandwiches type thing, we wanted to go all retro, and go for the oldie style thing, and find lots of old things that people have forgot about since their childhood, i.e... jelly tots, toffos, er... thats as far as we got?? So I'm here to search for more ideas!

Rainbow Drops!!
Although they do cost an extortionate 10p a packet instead of what they used to cost (which I forget, but I do remember them being virtually free)
Plus, you can't go wrong with Irn Bru (although it isn't made in Scotlad fronm girders anymore)
Blackjacks would be goood as well, but they don't turn yr tongue black anymore
