My sister swears by clove oil (or is it oil of cloves?) for that kind of toothache Jola... apparently rubbing a little bit on the affected gum really helps

I know how that feels, hun. But I'd really go to the dentist if it's still playing up tomorrow. Wisdom teeth tend to get worse not better and it will only cause an infection if it's not seen to as soon as possible.

Clove Oil is NAAAAAASTY! and for me doesnt last long. last time i had a tooth pain (infectionin wisdom it was HELL) i used everything said to work alcohol, pain killers, oinments in the end i was bad and nicked one of my mum's morphine patches but that only helped till i passed out.
go see a dentist. i know i will next time. *shudder*

my wisdom teeth never hurt me, i had mine by 15 when is till had a brace, the dentists were surprised they were so early. anyway my mum uses these things for when she has tooth ache, they are like little crystal type thingys and they're very cheap and onlky last temporarily but they releive the pain a bit, i'm not sure what they are called now though

I had all 4 out under general anaesthetic when I was 18 - all gone!

Well, having a big mouth, i've never had this problem. (no snarky comments please)

Gargling with soluable pain killers works for toothache tho, you might try that.

Ooh, dear. I really think you should go and see a dentist. A friend of mine went to have her wisdon teeth looked at as she was in so much pain and it turned out that one was growing at a funny angle. If she'd left it, the tooth would have severed a nerve and she could have lost feeling in her lower jaw! Worst case scenario, I know, but better to be safe than sorry.

Ok after a real bad night of pain I gave in and rang the dentist this morning

However, they can't even fit me in as an emergency until tomorrow (Wednesday) and weren't concerned that I am in agony.......

Back to more pain killers

MENTHOL CRYSTALS!!!! they really work, best thing to take but they only work temporarily but you can take as many as you like inn a day and they're very cheap too, they come in a small little tub thing.

Ok gave in and went to the dentist today. Sat there for an hour and a half only to be told to clean the infection with a mouthwash & syringe and if I'm still in pain on Friday to go back and get antibiotics.......

So all in all not a worthwhile visit. I may have to go back and if the anti-biotics don't clear it up then the tooth will have to come out

Exactly what happened to me, hun. And the tooth is still playing up so it's gonna have to come out
