Disaster... mmm, yah
September 11th - One Year On
May we all take a few moments to remember those affected by the disaster
May those who lost their lives continue to rest in peace and their loved ones and survivors continue to find the strength to carry on at this time.

I'd consider the loss of over 2000 lives a disaster, and I think many others would too.

Maybe he was referring to the conspiracies that have come from it all and not the deaths, i dunno, should've been more acturate i guess.

Its hard to believe that this happened a year ago. I can remember exactly where I was when it happened. Even though I didn't lose anyone that was close to me, I still feel affected by it.

May the brave people that ost their lifes to save others and the innocent people that died because of the crashs, rest in peace.
God Bless/Blessed Be

I think a lot of people feel the same simply because of the huge loss of life. It would be a very insensitive person who didn't feel anything. I was surprised how much these events have stayed with me. I have found it difficult to watch any of the documentaries shown on TV in recent weeks because I get quite emotional when I see the footage of the towers coming down again. I will certainly be partaking of the 2 mins silence later today to remember and show my respects.

I appriciate that some people on the site have strong views on how things have progressed since this time last year and those who disagree with the media's coverage of those events, but please try to discuss this aspect of things away from this thread which has been started as a respectful tribute to the dead.
What time is the silence Syd?
I haven't seen any of the documentaries but the images of that day will remain with me forever.
By some coincidence I was sorting through some things today and found a newspaper from September 12th, 2001, with the "scene" on the front/back page, made me very emotional
God bless everyone who was involved in this most terrible of tragedies...

I hope they didn't have the 2 minute silence in my 5 year old sons class. He is a bit of a worrier and got all upset about it the first time round

This obviously shows your level of intelligence and lack of sensitivity to the poor souls who lost their life.
Perhaps if you want to continue dis-respecting this thread you would like to start your own?
Well said Jola.
Just like to say, was a really hard day for me coz I have lotsa relatives and family friends in the States. I really cannot believe a year has passed. It must have been a very hard year for everyone who lost someone or knew someone who died or infact the whole of the United States. Today didn't feel real and if I laughed I felt a bit guilty. I think also some people maybe forgetting the people who died in the planes and in the Pentagon but I know I haven't.
Sept 11th will always be in my heart and mind.

I'll take that under consideration, thanks
As for this thread, when I have more time, OK?
But you might want to look up the word 'atrocity'...

Then here's another one. Stop being disrespectful in this thread. You've been asked already by fellow posters and a member of staff. Perhaps you should consider how *you* would feel if you had lost a member of your family in the 'disaster'. Or are you *really* that 'sad' to be arguing semantics in this thread? Stop trying to stir things up.

Thanx for the suggestion!
Thank you
On a personal level, I hope that those directly affected can find the inner strength to continue to rebuild their lives. I can't imagine how today must be a difficult day to go through for them.
