help!

Here's the deal...

My housemate moved out, both of my neighbours are on holiday and there's this HUGE spider in the bath that won't die!

I really need to wash my hair and its been there since I got out of the shower this morning!

I tried dropping a catalogue on it but it didn't even die after that! And nobody say pick it up with a glass and a piece of paper because I haven't got a glass that's big enough and besides I can't get near enough to it without freaking out!

Any bright ideas?

Yikes!! My bright idea is move out!!

I had a spider a few days ago, huge git it was too. I thought the cat had got it until it decided to re appear on the ceiling as I was walking upstairs. (I took to going up and downstairs with a bed sheet on my head!!)

I should think your spider will go away of it's own accord soon enough, mine has...

If you've got good aim, there's the aerosol and lighter trick.. just don't set the bathroom ablaze!

LMAO!!! Talk about co-incidence! My Mum just yelled "Ewwwwwww get it!!" from the kitchen, got in there and she's stood on a chair pointing at it lol.

Squished it with a kitchen roll tube

then used the little bit of kitchen roll that was left to clean up.. sorted

Sorry Tam, might take me too long to get up there to vanquish it for you..

Don't hurt it! Poor little thing

Sweep it away with a broom? You can keep far away from it then. I just got out the bath and turns out there was a huge spider in my towel so it ended up crawling down my arm. I don't mind spiders and I exagerate, it was smaller enough so I could usually handle it, but that really freaked me out!

okay with little ones I'm okay.. but this is like a monster - I can see its tatoos and *everything*.

Anyhow sorry Yally, but I think (hope?) I killed it. I boiled a kettle of water and washed it down the plug hole BUT its body is too big to fit down the gaps in the drain so it is still there with the plug over the top of it!!

I can't believe I'm so frightened of this spider its silly!

Well, I was thinking that with a broom you can keep your distance. Only trouble with that is it might run under your feet.

Have you got a hoover with a nozzle you could suck its remains up with that from a reasonable distance.

Dont worry I have an irrational fear of spiders too.

Aw hunny I know how you feel, there was the biggest spider I had ever seen in the garage at the weekend, it was on the step and including legs it was almost the size of one of the bricks

I ran away and had a panic attack in the living room

I had to send my mum to get rid of it

Apparently there was another one last night, thank god i didnt see it!!

I think its out to get us!! I just had to use the powershower at full heat and power to get this MASSIVE spider out of my bath!! Not that i was needing a bath but what if it crawled out of the bath and up the stairs! Probably wouldn't happen but none the less i wanted it dead...trust me to be the only one in

Not even my cat would wake up to kill it for me....he'll kill mice for me but not spiders!

I'd noticed no matter how many times I rinse the little blighters down the plug hole they come back up, so I've started rinsing them down and leaving the tap on for a while. That way when the water stops they might be far enough away not to bother coming back

BTW, this whole thread is making my back crawl *shudder*
