We flew to Scotland in June for the Homecoming convention and we didn't need to show our passports as it was a domestic flight.

However, I suppose me being safe in light of all the security levels now it may be an idea to get another one to show as ID just in case.

Best thing to do is check with the airline you are flying with and they can tell you

I'm flying from England to Scotland with Go and need to take a form of photo ID with me when I go to check in so I'll be taking my passport.

You don't need a passport to get into the country but if you've booked your flight tickets online then they'll require photo ID before you can claim them at the airport. I normally use my passport but if you have a photo driving licence that would do I think.

So it looks like your expired passport will be okay for Easyjet if it's less than two years out of date, but maybe not for Ryanair.

Best thing to do for either is probably to give them a call beforehand just to confirm

I'm taking my passport when I fly down for Nos but as everyone has already said any photo id will do. I'm guessing they would accept an out of date passport as it is a valid form of photo id but you never know.

Well, I would say you definitely don't need a valid passport because it is an internal flight (like Manchester to London), but, if they ask for photo ID and you don't have anything else... wouldn't need to be valid though, I would have thought.

Yeah, they just need something to confirm that you are actually the person who bought the tickets
