Some shops have had Christmas stuff in since the end of August..

I think it should be banned until the last week of November - You get fed-up with it by the time it actually arrives otherwise..

I love Christmas (but only since I had the kids)

Christmas eve I take the boys to my mums in Milton Keynes where we stay the night. After pressie opening we come back to Huntingdon at noonish. I go to the out-laws where they always have a "proper" Christmas. All the family come over, we play trivial pursuit, we all eat together ("pass the sprouts please" ) I get drunk, eat all the choccies and then go to sleep. Next morning repeat the whole day

Been doing this for the past 9 years and I'm not bored with it yet

Well it aint like it used to be, since I was a kid.

Christmas Rocks! I've made no plans so far, but I expect it'll be the usual: back to Wales to spend it with my family. Trouble is I don't know how many of my old mates are gonna be back there this year, so it could be quite dull.

As for New Year I have no idea what I'll be doing. My sister's been talking about having a party up in Scotland, but I dunno if that'll happen or not.

I love Christmas, but it's far to early to start thinking about it now! I couldn't believe it when I was in Sainsbury's last week and there was already a whole aisle of Xmas crackers, expecially when they were out of Bonios!

I'll be Bah, Humbugging until the start of Advent. Then I'll probably get really excited!!

Stoo: a place in Oxford was selling Christmas cards in the market the week we were on holiday! (the last week in August).

ASDA have just started putting up their decorations now, they've had their baubles, tinsel, wrapping paper and cards on sale for a couple of weeks now. I think September is way too soon, unless you have a serious amount of people to buy for and the space to hide everything!, then fair enough.

We'll probably start getting odds and ends in for the kids from the end of the month. But the serious shopping won't being til probably mid-November. I love Christmas, i always have done. Joel is starting to get a little excited now.. we're going to be writing out his present list for Santa very soon (the first time he's done it) though its his birthday three weeks before Christmas (when he'll be nine! ).

It's going to be a strange Christmas this year, as my parents are still separated. Both want to see my kids on Christmas Day, so we're planning on having both over for tea along with my brother. I'm dreading it already as i wouldn't put it past my dad to spoil the afternoon, but as he loves my two kids, i can't not let him see them (Ray takes them to see him for a couple of hours every Sunday afternoon). I don't really want him to be there, but my mum has asked specially that he be included... and i've always done as i'm told (sorry to ramble... )

But Christmas Day itself, we all get up, Ray and i watch the kids open their gifts and help to get them set up, get them both dressed, and after breakfast and whilst they're playing with their new toys, we exchange our own gifts. Then later in the morning, we head off to Ray's parents where the whole process is repeated. In the old days, after lunch, we'd head over to my parents for tea.

Boxing Day, we stay indoors, chill out and watch TV

Yes. We've got Halloween to think about before then.

I like the whole 'party season' feel to Xmas, but hate the pressure to buy gifts for everyone. Not only does it leave you broke, but no one can ever think of good presents once you've passed the age of 10 so most stuff is a useless waste of money anyway. I'm looking forward to the food/drink/parties/family time/days off work, but not presents, Santa and not being able to get near the bloody shops.

I sound so grumpy, don't I?

Personally, I love Christmas but it does seem to get earlier and earlier (if only Easter did that too - I'd never run out of Creme Eggs). In fact I was invited to a Christmas Party on Sunday at the South Con, so it seems some people are already in the mood.

I noticed my local BHS has already got its Christmas display up. I love playing in that place

ME TOO!! i spend hours in there scaring all the customers, tis excellent, i run wild!! like the fart things, and setting off all the musical toys and stuff!!!

Last year i was at work for 12hrs on christmas day and boxing day. no idea what i'll be doing this year, as the mud wrestling over who works what shifts wont happen til much nearer the time.
Despite how early all the stuff appears in the shops, Christmas always sneaks up on me and i end up shopping at the last minute. Maybe as i am really bad at present ideas

I love Christmas, but I look forward to it every year and it just seems to be pants on the day. A huge build up, then one day and its all gone. This year we're breaking a tradition and going to Florida for Christmas. Will be wierd spending Christmas in a hotel and not doing the usual. But hey, I'll get used to it, I can always decorate a palm tree. But won't be getting many pressies this year cos the trip is more of a pressie. Also I'll be crying my heart out, being away from the boyfriend. But oh well I'll get to sit by the beach and talk to mini mouse

Christmas goes to quickly, and I just wanna be five again

I love Christmas but the innocent magic that it has when you're a child is the best. As Lizzie alluded to, it's the build up that I enjoy the most but once Christmas Day comes along it tends to go flat.

Still, I like working Christmas Eve because I work with such a great group of people so there's a really good atmosphere and we all have a laugh which is the main thing.

I also like decorating my flat and last year in the high street outside they had some kiddies fair ground rides with Christmas carols and music playing which made for a great atmosphere right outside my window.

Christmas gets my thumbs up

It's so good to see so many people being positive about Christmas. I'll need to remember all this over the next 3 weeks.

We start decorating the terminals & shops at the Airport. So I shall be faced with untold comments from staff and passengers. Which is pretty demoralising when your on the top of a 9'ladder doing the finishing touches to the 67th tree you've dressed that night.

It takes 3 weeks of 16hr night-shifts to put Christmas into 11 Airports and it all starts this Monday night. So if you're flying out and see a rather frazzled girly struggling with a bauble or two, just smile, don't say a word. It's probably me
