CONGRATULATIONS! I'm really pleased for you
I got the job
Yay! I applied for an internal position in the IT department of my company. I've been working as a OpenView consultant in the past, and it has driven me crazy. So when they advertised the internal IT position I jumped at it - afterall, i like the company i work for, just not the job I have now.
Downside is I lose my Alfa Romeo company car, upside is that I don't have to pimp myself out all round the bleeding country to have it.
They've kept me waiting for two weeks, because they needed to get the MDs approval on some things. Worst thing is that I had competition in the form of a guy whose working here part time in IT, also applied for the job, and is very good at what he does. The interview was pretty tough and I felt i'd only done average. Great thing was that the personell manager told me today, that I had done very well in the interview. I was gobsmacked.
Gonna have to get extra steamed this weekend to celebrate!

Cheers Guys
Shame Kelly aint around to celebrate.
She doesnt know the good news yet, cos her phone is turned off, she's getting drunk with her work colleagues and abruptly cancelled an evening we planned at a friends house via a text from her friends phone.
Thanks lots Kel.

Perhaps she has a good reason to cancel your evening together and switch her phone off...
Like what?

I dunno *shrug* You tell us...
None that I know of, things were fine last night. In fact it was her idea we went to my friends house tonight. She told me last night she was going for a beer after work with colleagues, I said fine, but don't come home drunk - she said yeah, no prob.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway back onto the subject of this thread.................. Congrats on the new job and enjoy getting steamed at the weekend
ooops, it would seem thatI have inadvertantly (sp) caused WW3 here! Been wanting to contact you all day but my battery ran out after I texted to see if you got the job. Spent most of my dinner money to call your office but I had the wrong number.
Then I went to the pub with a few people from work thinking I'd just have the one to be sociable and then head home coz I don't really know them and was frightened I wouldn't fit in anyway, but it turned out they were really nice and I was just taking the time to get to know a few people that I had dismissed as being too good for me.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm totally made up for you babe, and I've been wondering all day whther you'd got it or not. Go you !!
