Darren Brown
he was on channel 4 late last night and i've seen him a few times before and hes excellent don't you think? hes like a mind type person who goes aronud a bit like david Blain doing tricks but so much better and more interesting cuz i'm pretty sure its all real and not just a trick like David Blaine. He like reads people minds, makes people forget things, memorizes dictionarys in like 20 minutes and stuff and is a very clever bloke. I think a lot of it is down to influences people what to think so he knows the answer, but he is amazing to watch.

Do you mean Derren Brown? If so, he's great! Saw a series a while back where he got a track to pay out on a losing dog by saying "this is the dog you're looking for"! So he's back on, eh? I have to watch it next week... the guy's a genius
I caught a bit of the show, and I've seen him before; he's jolly good. The cornerstone of most of it is NLP, and he's one of the best practitioners of it I've ever seen. But even a modest ability can produce terrifyingly wonderfull results
Edit: having just re-watched the show far less of it was NLP than I first thought. A fair chunk of cold reading and speed hypnosis, plus some good ol' fashioned illusion & sleight of hand, with a dash of editing out the bits that don't work.

Derren should be on Ri:se on Friday morning, and his TV shows are being repeated (yet again!) on E4 on Saturday night.
Sorry to interrupt, but what's NLP?

The cornerstone of most of it is NLP
Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
It's a chunk of psychology concerned with how the brain processes sensory inputs and represents information, at both a conscious and sub-conscious level.
By determining how a person processes what they sense, you can tailor what you present to them to ensure they percieve it in a particular way.
It's widely used in the treatment of phobias and trauma, in sales/marketing and in mentoring. It can be employed in magic to help with forces etc, and to complement cold reading.
