Just heard that Richard Harris who plays Dumbledore in the harry potter films has died
he was a talented actor

He had Hodgkin's Lymphoma for quite some time. I thought he was brilliant in the Harry Potter movie but I am also (un)fortunate enough to remember him playing King Arthur in Camelot too. If anyone sees this out on VHS Vid would they let me know..?

Great actor, sad news. He was wonderful as Dumbledore, and I saw his portrayal of Arthur in Camelot on TV recently, utterly amazing.
My second thought was who d'you think will get the Dumbledore role in the remaining Harry Potter films?

His stand in / body double person thing, he's in most of the scenes int he 1st and 2nd films because Richard Harris was so ill and old.

i think it would be best if the stand in guy took over the role of Dumbledore, then at least there won't be too much change in mannerisms etc - The other possible replacement being touted is Christopher Lee, but i think he's too well known an actor to take over from so well known an actor (If you see what I mean) plus Lee has played a grey haired wizardy type in LOTR and ATOC recently so it just seems liek a silly idea to me.

Very sad loss, I always thought his best role apart from Professor Albus Dumbledore, was in The Wild Geese. May he rest in peace. A great actor!!!
