Wind!! Gales are all here too. Woke up at 7.30 cos of stupid howling wind!! Very tired. We've been having powercuts all day. The garden is a mess and the petrol station at Sainsubury's was closed cos the roof had been blown off.
Wind
well, woke up to find a fence panel missing garden furniture all over the garden and in trees and stuff and thoguht wow what a night. Well then my dad gets home from refereeing without a car. A tree fell on it 10 seconds after he got outta the car, if he was in it he could've died so i guess thats a small mercy, but the car was insured 3rd party and trees falling on them does not count, so basically we are b*gg*r*d

Seeing as its all i can hear, i've been checking wind speeds at sites around the country today... as i'm sat here at work with weather data available and nothing better to do when pc's arent breaking. Lots of places getting gusts around 60mph at times and i overheard someone at Railtrack today saying there were 90mph gusts at Berwick. Railtrack use our software and sites for wind alarms on the east coast main line, so this guys computer naturally chose this morning to die horribly. oops.
Pity about the car, Spike, but i'm glad your Dad's ok.

Glad your Dad is okay, Spike.
But the winds are gusting to gale force down here in Hampshire as well. There was even a tornado the other day in nearby Portchester!
Hoping that nothing like that hits Bishops Waltham today but I nearly got blown away going for the morning paper!

Sorry to hear about your car Spike. Hope you get something sorted out soon.
I guess this is another one you can add to the list of bad things that happen to you when the clocks go back.

Glad your dad was OK.
Such a fine place! Which reminds me, must call home and see what chaos the weather has caused up there.

It's been very windy here up North, but nothing compared to what you guys are experiencing down South.. glad to hear everyone's okay, and according to weather forecasters it should be all over with by tomorrow morning (or at least the wind shouldn't be as strong)
Glad your dad's OK Spike, although what a pain about the car - but sounds like some people weren't so lucky
Part of our fence has come down, but fortunately it's actually the neighbours' fence, and I'm very glad we remembered to bring the washing in last night because I think otherwise our clothes would be half a mile away!

Its been crap down here
I counted about 9 trees down on one stretch of road, then later today when Len came home he said there were more trees and billboards all over the place.
Things seem alot calmer now - so heres hoping its all over

Glad you're dads okay Spike....weather hasn't been to bad up here today although there was supposedly some problenm with the water supply in the town...luckily I slept through it
I nearly got blown off the motorway on Sunday.
I guess there are downsides to owning an ickle car (never would have happened if I'd still had the cavalier estate)
Plenty of blowdowns on the way to the pub for Sunday lunch as well.
