Mishelisa: you can take as long as you want to make your decision. There's no law saying you must get your child immunised by a certain date. I haven't had Hannah immunised yet, though she'll be getting the jab within the next month to six weeks. She should've had it three months ago, but i told my health visitor that i wanted to defer the decision until she was 18 months "proper", which she is now. Personally i think being given the jab at 12 months of age is too early.. 15 to 18 months old seems to be the usual.. that's how old Joel was when he got his jab. Maybe because of the scare-mongering about the so called autism connection is why babies are being immunised earlier.. (15 months is when, if there's anything wrong, it'll begin to show, which, coincidentally or whatever, is when the MMR is usually given).
I think you should have Liam immunised, but it's up to you on how.. the triple or single jabs.. don't be pressurised into anything you're not comfortable with. If you feel Liam isn't ready, or feel he shouldn't have the MMR for whatever reasons, tell your GP or health visitor and they should respect this.
