Yellow by Coldplay. It reminds me of a certain special someone. Whenever I hear it, depending on my mood at the time, it either makes me really happy and I start smiling , or it makes me really sad and I start crying .

There are a few other songs that bring back memories, but this is the strongest one.

Coldplay, I loove Coldplay, has to be Yellow, Ahhh, your making me cry, I must be hormonal, POF, your Quote an all, (sniffs)

The first few songs of U2s hits (the green onewith the guy in the helmet on the cover) reminds me of this great party i went to at my friends house, unfortunately due to my big mouth i no longer speak to said friend. So now its makes me sad to hear that cd, which is dung cos i really like it

There are loads! I can still barely listen to Achtung Baby because it reminds me so much of a particular ex.Anything indy-ish from summer 95 makes me sad because it reminds me of my last few weeks at uni.

The strongest one, though, is 'Imitation of Life' by REM. That reminds me of the time when it first came out, when me and my now-hubby had just moved to Oxford, he was working all hours in the pub with no support, I was in a new job, all our friends were miles away...it was a pretty awful time and it was the closest we ever came to splitting up, but we got through it together. So we had that as our first dance at our wedding last month

I hear David Lee Roth's "Just Like Paradise" and i think of when i met Ray, it always makes me smile.

Pregnant with Joel: "I Will Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"..

Pregnant with Hannah: "Butterfly" by CrazyTown.

I find it hard to listen to the last Stereophonics CD as it was released about the time Hannah was born last year and Ray played it constantly in the car travelling to and from the hospital. "Jaded" by Aerosmith (which i adore) reminds me of that time too (makes me think of Hannah).

And there's an instrumental track on the Artful Dodger CD that i can't listen to. Basically it was during a time when Hannah was a bit poorly in the hospital and we were all extremely worried about her. This track came on, and i just burst into tears from all the stress. Even now, when Hannah is hale and hearty and incredibly healthy, i still can't listen to it without getting choked up.

I'm a bit like that but with..wait for it.. Linkin Park. I was with someone and we annhilated that album.

There are loads of songs that remind me of different times and people, but the one that stands out in my mind right now is "Solid as a Rock" an old 80's song that I used to dance to in the kitchen with my mum. I love 80's music it never fails to make me smile, and reminds me of the good ol' days!

I will always love you - Whitney Houston... Hate the song, but it reminds me of child hood and being happy.

Goodbye to You - Michelle Branch - when that comes on the radio it reminds me of the Buffy ep where Giles and Tara left

The Greatest Love of All - Whitney Houston - Reminds me of the summer at a park with my cousins we were all linking arms and walking up the road singing our hearts out.

I know there's more, just can't think of them right now.

Edit... thought of one (or three!). My family used to have a trailer that we went camping in (during the summertime). It had an 8-track tape player. We used to play a tape by The Outlaws over and over and over again, BUT if I was around only three particular songs got played. "I'm Looking For Blue Eyes (Jessi Colter), "Suspicious Minds (Waylon Jennings & Jessi Colter), and "Put Another Log On The Fire" (Tampall and His Outlaw Band). Dad sold the trailer years ago, but we still have the tape, and actually I found the cassette tape in a store & bought it (tho the songs are not in the same order ) Listening to the songs triggers memories from those summers growing up.

And loads of 80s tunes make me go all nostalgic, no specific memories linked there tho

recently for my friends birthday, i made a cd with all the songs we love collectively as a group, so i guess that evokes lots of good memories of going out and partying

'Dreamweaver' from Waynes World always reminds me of my ex-fiance, and 'Dancing Queen' reminds me of a friend that passed away 2 years ago - it was played at her funeral

But on a lighter note - Limp Bizkit's 'Rollin' always reminds me ofKristen and Hannah. 'Dock of the Bay' or 'Handbags and glag rags' remind me of my mate James, and Van Halen's 'Jump' reminds me of my mate Peter's wedding - it was their first song they danced to at the reception - unusual choice

And 'Teenage Dirtbag' always reminds me of Martin (Slaughtered Lamb 1) cos he propels himself off my shoulders when we rock to it at cons

This one is also imprinted on my memory. There was someone I'd been very attracted to for a very long time. When I finally worked up the nerve to tell her, she let me down gently but unambiguously. This song happened to be playing on the radio just as I was driving away.

Anyway, I prefer the Dolly Parton version although I did buy the Bodyguard soundtrack to help me through the period of wallowing... Still, it could be worse, she's still one of my closest, most trusted friends. Hearing the song still makes me a bit wistful though.
