O2, 200 free minutes, but no free SMS messages. 7.79/month, not too bad as I don't use the phone too much, handset's a Nokia 8310.
What network are you on?
What it says...if you have a mobile phone what network do you use and is it PAYT or contract??
I'm on a Vodafone contract...£13 a month and I get 150 txts free and 600 off peak minutes to Vodafones or house numbers free.
And you?

Yup, when I got my phone, they gave me the add-on camera for free, it takes pretty decent photos too, but only if there's good light, as it has no flash etc..

Has anyone on here bought a camera phone?
Not sent pictures to anyone yet, mainly because I think Emmy is the only other person I know with a phone capable of receiveing them, although, it can email..
Mine can *hint hint*

Do you reckon that Photo messaging will take off? As far as I can tell, it costs a fair bit and the pictures aren't particularly good, unsurprisingly.
Also, I do feel that vodafone are misrepresenting the capabilities of the phone in their advertisements.

as long as there is good light it takes very good pictures, the representation on the phone's screen isn't as good as most of them are only 256 colour screens, however, if they are emailed instead, the quality is good enough, and stands up very well to the cheap digicams that are popping up all over the place. The only down side compared to a conventional camera is the lack of a flash, and only limited storage.
MMS will probably not take off in it's current guise, it will be over-taken by newer and better technologies that are lurking just around the corner.
Why bother with MMS if a little way down the line you will have a mobile phone that is permanently connected to the internet via a broadband connection, and can send/receive data using standard applications?
Over at www.three.co.uk Hutchinson telecom have released the first details of their 3G network, currently it's very expensive (£59.99 a month & ~£400 for the phone), but once it takes off it will drop down like everything eventually does. These are the start of interesting times in personal communications

What sort of bandwidth usage do you get for that?

I'm on O2 and have a Sharp camera phone and I've been sending quite a few pics by email to friends. The quality is pretty good and MMS messages are free until the end of Jan then it's 40p per MMS message.
the specifics haven't been released yet

Orange Pay As You Go - the one where i get 5 free terxts a day. I really like and i'm happy with my package because i can buy £50 vouchers and they last me abotu a year and text messages are only 5p after i've used my 5
Any idea what resolution the pictures are taken in?

I haven't bothered getting the camera for the T68, I don't feel i'd ever really use it.
Well, I wasn't overly fussed, but it came free anyway so *shrug*
Shhhhhhhhhh I can't help it if I don't know which number is which Hmm probably sent that text to the wrong one then on Wednesday night... oops!
by Stoo
Oh yeah, I've got two phones for now until Orange send me my termination code so I can get my number swapped onto T-Mobile.. if you ring my old number it'll divert to my new one, but if you text it'll still go to the old one..
So don't be surprised if you get a text or call from a strange number (@Emmy )
I'll quit rambling now
Anyway, I'm on O2 contract, seems ok so far £20 a month, 500 free off peak mins to O2 and land, then 50 mins X-net plus 100 free texts *yay* Might switch to a lower usage one ASAP, or maybe fewer mins and more texts! I looked @ Vodaphone but they seemed a bit expensive... hmmm may have to look at them in future
T-mobile contract which was really handy for text bundles 200 for £10 and landline and other T-mobiles were free and then REALLY cheap and I was only paying a £16 monthly line rental/charge thingy but with having no job and/or money this bill is at £200+ so I had to get a Virgin pay as you go simcard just so I could contact people and let them know I can't use my old phone till i pay the bill... methinks i know what I'm asking daddy for this xmas.
