Direct quotes from a magazine interview are a world away from uncorroborated speculative libel! If GQ fabricated something like that, they would very likely be sued for a considerable amount.

Like JtB said in his post, I really couldn't care less what she had to say.

Her opinions and beliefs (which she is perfectly entitled to have by the way), are not going to have any impact on me, seeing as I haven't paid the slightest attention to anything she has done or said in the last 10 or so years.

Quite. Danii Minogue knows she's always in Big Sis' shadow and, if this story is accurate, it's just an attempt by her to get her some media attention. Which we are now adding to.

This just got better. From SkyNew's site: "The Aussie singer said she was 'mortified' and was considering legal action after the BNP claimed she backed its stance on immigration." Backtracking for Australia, she said: "Australia is the most multicultural melting pot of people. I'm completely proud of that. I grew up in Melbourne where mostly the people around where I lived were Greeks and Italians which I absolutely loved. And I said in parts of Queensland there's lots of Asians and, you know, yes it's true some street signs are in Asian. I wasn't saying that was a bad thing."

Turns out she never meant to offend anybody, and that it was all a big misunderstanding. She definitely didn't support Le Penn when she said "He struck a chord with people". Presumably "Asians are pouring into Queensland" was made in a similar welcoming vein.

Now a kind-hearted soul could say it was all a tragic misunderstanding of perfectly innocent comments, whereas a more cynical chap could surmise she quickly realized that being ladled a racist wasn't exactly going to increase her already paltry album sales.

I'll leave it for you to decide the truth of the matter.
