Well as everyone knows Spike , Father Christmas is real and actually comes to my house every year, I leave him out a cheese Straw and a carrot for the reindeers and every morning there's crumbs on the plate and a ickle piece of carrot left.

Plus you don't need to leave ya front door open hunny , Father Christmas can get into your house he is magical after all , all leaving your door open will do is let the robbers in

When I found out that Father Xmas (as we know him) was created by Coca Cola, I used to leave him a bottle of Coke outside the front door so the bubbles could help him float up to the chimney so he could get in
The fact that our chimney has been blocked ever since we've owned the house never occured to me

'Cos I'll be over at my mums on Christmas eve we're leaving a note on the door for Father Christmas to come over there with the boys pressies instead (they are rather insistant at this ). He'll get left a mince pie and a glass of milk and will let himself in with his magic keys through the conservatory

Thats the one. Santa is also REALY REALLY considerate of my alcohol induced state and leaves my prezzies at teh bottom of my stairs (i'm in teh attic room) to avoid waking me

The thing is why does everyone assume that he needs to get down the chimney. The guy has the technology and/or magic to get round the world to every good child in one night, I think he can manage to teleport 10 feet if someoen has locked the doors or blocked the chimneys

It's easier to explain magic keys to a 3yr old than teleportation. Beside magic keys sound nicer

We used to leave a mince pie and carrot out in the kitchen and we'd find the carrot half eaten and the mince pie fully eaten but that suddenly stopped when the guinea pig died for some weird conincidence

I asked my parents how Santa came in because our chimney is blocked - i think they tried to ignore me!

My folks used to shake bells and say 'get to sleep - Father Christmas is coming ' and we'd get up and say 'has he been? '

He always has his way of getting in, one way or another

I always used to leave brandy, carrots and mince pies for father christmas. Really should have realised my dad was drinking the brandy and eating the mince pies...the carrots were never eaten.

Dangermouse - When I was little I used to check my sack (didn't have a stocking) and run through to my dad and shout "he's been!" at the top of my voice at 3 in the morning

I can remember sneaking down the stairs with my brother to check - there were some good good times .

We used to leave the whole works out - carrots, mince pies, brandy, cake - I'm surprised Santa could get out of our chimney

Although when I got older and I knew it was mum leaving the pressies in the stockings I always tried to stay awake to catch her leaving them. I never did though - I have no idea how she always managed to do that!!

Same with the whole tooth fairy thing and leaving money under a pillow.

Maybe there is magic
