no way would i apy that much, i'm happy with a 79p cheese burger from macdonalds as they are like no other burger, they are like cardboard yet strangely tastey.

Americans and their food
Was reading in the Metro the other day about a restaurant in New York were the current craze is to have burgers made from the imported beef of Japanese cows.
The cattle is fed on Beer and grain and it apprently makes the meat so tender that it makes it melts in your mouth (literaly). They sell quite a few of these a day at an equivalent cost of £26.
So what do you think and would you pay that much for any form of food let alone a burger.
I think I'd give it a go

Nope. Wouldn't even consider paying that much for a burger. My favourite burger is a Johnny Rockets Rocket single with 1/2 fries & 1/2 rings. I can't wait to go back to America in April and have one.

Funny that you should post about that. I was watching a talk show on TV this morning and they were saying that hamburgers are the new "in" food right now with people in trendy circles in New York City. There's supposedly some restaurant in New York City where some fools are actually paying $50.00 for some special type of burger. Frankly, I really don't get it. I don't like hamburgers anyway. Hardly ever eat 'em. But I can't figure out how you could ever justify charging that kind of money for a burger--and why anyone would take it seriously.
I'm sure "normal" people aren't really into these super expensive burgers. But there are always people in places like New York and Los Angeles who have more money than common sense who are ready to try anything that's "in" at the moment.

Apparently they're pretty darn huge, add a side-salad and it's a main course for a family of four.. in that case it's not too bad

Nah, my boyfriend makes the best burgers (his chilli beef ones are great!). I wouldn't pay 26 quid for a steak let alone a burger... but then again, I'm broke
