Just want to say I think it's a fun idea.

I'm not going to the party but I didn't think it was excluding me, I'm only really a lurker here, when I read it though it showed me once again what a spirited community this is - its a shame not everyone can see that, but its rare, especially online, to find a place thats comfortable to do this kind of thing - course, it could all be very professional here and messages like that would almost certainly not happen in the interest of image and professionalism - but then you lose almost all of its character and appeal into the bargain - I know what I'd prefer

I say give the team a break, the next thing they do to promote this site might be the funniest thing ever, but if they get turned off by the negativity shown in this thread, we'll never know.

Everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint, but we appreciate all your views and it was never intended to offend anyone. Hopefully the message will reach those who can go but hadn't realised how fast the months now weeks are fading away (can someone please tell me where the year 2002 went )

As some people have said, mass emails are more likely to be binned without reading, but also we were aware that some people don't have computer access at the moment and can only access websites at uni etc.

As Stoo said the message should only appear once per session, ie the first time you click onto General Chat - just make sure its not when you've had too many beers otherwise you may forget the pop up

Must say, Wecan't come to the party (babysitting probs overnight, couldn't even go on the works do in brummyland,because of said prob) I do feel a little left out, and said ransom note did have me a little worried, but bypassed it with 'yes i did' thingy and thought I duped the staff, into letting me into site, but now in I have found so is every one else.

Well i guess you can't please all the people any of the time

Thought was a good idea , but after the 3rd time (and i've already booked) was a bit perplexed, so can see where the annoyance can come in.

but overall, a great idea, and is it just me that thinks the only people complaining are those that aren't going?

DM, I'm sure you didn't mean to make that sound so niggly but I have to say that's kind of unfair as looking up at the comments and the members who made them I'd have to say its about half and half.

Well I have a complaint too, the letters were all different sizes, we had lower case and upper case, we had different couloured letters and everything!!!!!! What type of terrorists are you, assaulting the english language like that, and I hope you didnt cut the letters out of the Sun!!!!!!!

Secondly, all this about first and second class, so if I'm going to be a stamp, when do I get licked, and by whom?

I think it was funny, but then I openly admit I'm strange, well done and keep up the good work (I'll sort my own licking out thanks)

I thought it was slightly funny when I first saw it but now it's just kinda annoying...I've got my ticket, clicked the link and still get it everytime I reload the site (about 4 times a day).

*Sigh* suppose I can put up with it if it means it might encourage more peeps to come party.

And as I say I laughed the first time...although a better way to get people to buy their ticket could be to threaten to put a naked photo of Stoo & Wobag on the page before general chat instead..bet then peeps would buy tickets to stop it happening

A brief moment of confusion, followed by a reaction similar to the above.

Working in Internet security and seen something like that, thought that someone had managed to have a pop at the site.

My initial reaction was "what the heck..?", then it made me laugh. I thought it was quite funny!

Did wonder what was going on for a moment LOL.

I thought it was cool, but I don't like the way that when you click to post (and then have to sign in) it goes back to that page.
But I still like it!

To everyone who it reminded about the party, who found it funny, or it gave them a giggle... it achieved what we were trying for

To all those who are less than amused, sorry *shrug* We thought it would be a laugh with a nudge attached but obviously it wasn't to everyones taste. When you consider that we also use the party to raise funds to keep the site going (in addition to the staff contributions) then I would think you could cut us some slack for advertising the party in this off the wall way.

Normal service of your site will be resumed soon....

i also thoguht the site had been hacked when it first started to load! i was like

i don't really have a problem with it, i just bypassed it before it finished loading
but i only just seen it and some have said its get annoying after the first time....so we shall see! heh

didn't make much of an impact on me, but why are so many peopel complaining? its only 1 extra page
