Offended...

Here is what my so called 'friend' text me when I told her about my new boyfriend:

"Personally I'm happy to be single-independance, the freedom to flirt with any guy I want. I'm just waiting for mr gorgeous after all its better to wait than lower your standards"

I didn't choose to reply to that.

sorry i'm a bit confused with whats so bad about it?

shes basically saying she herself is happy being single, ok theres the lowering standards bit but shes not deffinately saying you have lowered yours. maybe she has a reason to say it if she knows him and has a reason to dislike him, then again maybe the txt you sent beforehand she thought was you bragging about how you're no longer single and she is (no offence) so if i were you i'd txt her and ask her what her problem is and sort it out in a ncie way

I would have texted her back & gave her what for!

That said, I think you did the right thing, but I'd seriously re-assess what kind of a friend she is to you.

I dont really think that what she said is that bad (sowwy). She does sound a wee bit jealous, was she replying to a text that you had sent her or did she just send that one out of the blue

It seems a weird thing to say is all

Ooops forgot to mention sometimes Texts can sound really harsh so maybe she didnt mean it quite how it sounded. I'd ask her straight.

I'm glad she realised that it may have sounded a bit harsh, but I was amazed that a friend could send something like that to burst your bubble. Anyway, I hope it all works out and that you still have your friend and boyf months from now.

she sound more superficial actually but i have to agree with Miss Edith the amount of trouble I've gotten into over a text because it can be misread i tend to try and not bother anymore. :$
in the mean time i hope you girls sort things out and that you'll be very happy with your new fella
