For the first time I'll actually have a boyfriend for Valentine's Day!
Valentines Day!! :-&
Ok, a little early I know, but I thought I'd start to spread the love in advance!!
So I just wondered what everyone was doing for valentines this year?? Are you sending a card to a certain someone special?? Spending the day with a loved one?? Or just ignoring all the happy couples??
Anyone got any views on Valentines?? My boyfriend is reluctant to celebrate a day of a saint that was suposed to be a murderer apparantly?? So we've decided that it's just for us and not about a tradition enforced by companies to sell stuff!!
Anyway, I'm having the age old problem of what to get a guy for valentines!! I've never had to think about it before!! It's easy to buy for women, flowers, chocolates, teddy bear etc..........Any ideas?? the best one I've got so far is a compolation tape of songs that are kinda special, you know the sort!!

I'm not really bothered about getting anything. It's just another day to me now. Why should you just say I Love You on one day a year?
I may send an e-card or 2, but that's my limit.

Am of the opinion this year that cards and pressies are off. Having seen some of the awful sickly tat in the shops this year, I'm definitely not doing any of the above. What is it about Valentine's day that makes people lose all sense of taste?? One of the few Valentines cards I've had was one of those awful padded birdies and hearts and ickle-wickle-wabbits jobs. Gr. Never again... It's all too, too horrible...
Yup, I'm a cynic!

Well yes, Valentines Day as we know it is a total Hallmark holiday, and normally I pay no attention. But this year is a little different - so you'll excuse me if I avoid the manky corner this time around and go snuggle with someone special
As for guy presents - it's a toughie isn't it. Basically, romance is defined by how much you care for that person - if you've listened and taken in enough about them to know what they like and what they'd appreciate. It doesn;t have to be "traditional" - just what you think someone would like.
If you love someone, you don't need a apecific day to show it anyway

Not really sure what i'll be doing. Theres a girl in my class that i have a thing for. I've come up with a few idea's. Like slipping a card into her locker that morning (might try to write someting in her native tongue on the card as well) and maybe do some other things through out the day. Also i'm considering asking her out to dinner or something. Still in the thinking stages at the moment, but i'll come up with something. Any sugguestions would be really helpful.

Personally it would be nice to have a hint of romance on valentine's day - even a bunch of cheap market flowers or a pack of choccies wouldn't be refused.
But in the spirit of non-comericalism we'll probably pull out the age old cards that we hide away each year

i was talknig to a bloke mate and he has asked aronud and women seem to prefer flowers, but they cost like £50 or more, i'd personalyy get chocolates cuz flowers will go to waste, evidenly on one site a single red rose is £20, considering i've bought one for £1 before it seems way overpriced
I got an anonymous valentine's e-card too. From ??? with the email address guesswho@aol.com - either SPIKE's realised how not to get found out, or I really do have a secret admirer

Hey, me too!
Sorry, but it looks like the secret admirer isn't exclusive...
EDIT: Hang on, just realised, considering I got one from guesswho@aol.com it's highly likely it isn't SPIKE... Alright, 'fess up, who was it?
