Personally, it is either Devil May Cry on the PS2 or the arcade version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

GTA vice city is flipping excellent, Golden eye on the N64 but also Two Crude Dudes on the megadrive that game was excellent.

Oh Im with the DMC love, but for all time i have to say Jet Set Willy was the most affect ing game for me, the first game I drew maps for and had memorised, man games were hard back then! Save games my foot

Other than that Doom totally blew me away when i first played it, all games are basically now Pre or Post Doom

I pretty much suck at computer games, must be missing the video game gene or something, lol

I used to be good at Alex The Kid on the Master System and Busta Move on Playstation, but that's my lot.

I'm more of a watcher of games really. I love watching Graham play Age Of Empires, and Sim City. I tried a bit of Sim City but I sucked a lot

I think that the games that got me hooked were probably Mario Brothers, Streetfighter and oh before that Double Dragon and the Dizzy games when I inherited my brother's ZX spectrum.
Out of more recent games, I'd have to say Final Fantasy VII blew me away the first time I played on it. Now it looks so dated compared to FFX. I've always been a big fan of the Tekken games and Metal Gear Solid was another game I spent hours on.
At the moment in our flat, the obsession is WWE Smackdown. It's surprising how much fun 6 people can have beating the hell out of computer versions of their 'friends'. lol.

I'm sorry I'm well behind on playing playstation stuff. Personally I've only finished Sypro 1,2 & 3 within the last 6 months I just don't make the time to sit and play as that would involve hogging the tv.

Give me a game of yahoo pool anyday

Syndicate - Welcome to the dawning of a new Empire When this came out it was absolutely astounding, and then after years it still is.

Syndicate Wars - More of the same with a more sinister and atmospheric setting. I feel that the weapons got out of hand though, catering for munchkins too much which took away from the game play to a certain extent even though those cities were the perfect cyberpunk setting

Deus Ex - just because.

Final Fanstasy - 7,8 and 10.

I'm waiting till Deus Ex 2 comes out before I upgrade my PC. And I'd kill for a Syndicate 3

I'm unsure as to whether anything yet has, to be honest.

Populous - one of the few Amiga games I actually paid for...

Doom - the graphics on this type of game have improved, but the gameplay hasn't. Except for..

Half Life - best FPS ever, without doubt.

Civilisation 2 - Just classic strategy.

Most recently, I've been getting into RPG type games. I'm currently thoroughly addicted to Morrowind.

My Current Obsessions:
Championship Manager - I've owned and played every version of this game. I think I still have all of them except the original which I had on the Amiga (which got stolen when I was at Uni). I've already ordered CM4 (back in September) and if they don't release it soon I may have to kill someone...
Civilization - Just an absolute classic that I never get tired of.
Birth of the Federation[b] - Sub-Civilization copy for sad Trek addicts like me...
[b]Final Fantasy - Like Hoppy I got into these with VII. Absolutely blew me away.

All Time Classics:
Elite - NOTHING has ever topped this.
Lords of Midnight - Along with Doomdark's Revenge, these were the first games to show me what an obsession was.
Manic Miner - No platform game since has come even close.
Football Manager - The game that paved the way for Championship Manager. This is where the addiction started. I can think of at least one ex-girlfriend who would have been a lot happier if this game was never invented.
Defender of the Crown - A game that was way ahead of its time.
It's Only Rock 'n' Roll - A bit like RockStarGame but with more options, stickman animation and a random lyric generator. Absolutely class game. Never understood why no one else ever released a Rock and Roll strategy game.
1984 - Highly addictive and only £1.99. God, I miss Mastertronics.
Pirates! - One of the most amazing RPGs ever.

Honourable mention should also go to Cannon Fodder, Chaos Engine, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Wing Commander, Doom, Syndicate, GTA, Worms and Chef's Luv Shack.

However, there's one missing. That's because I can't remember it's name. I think it was on the C64, though it might have been the C128. Basically a bit of an odd RPG. You basically follow someone's life from cradle to grave making life decisions on the way in the form of multiple choice questions. A bit like Deus Ex Machina, only not THAT freaky. Anyone have the faintest idea what I'm talking about?

How the hell did I ever forget The Chaos Engine?? Must get an emulator for that or something... Thanks for the reminder JJ!

Oh, and Birth of the Federation's pretty cool as well...

Pretty old retro space-y type shoot-em-up (I think, never played it) which inspired quite a lot of games (think Colony Wars) but, like Doom, is thought by many (including some people here) to never have been bettered. Yet.

I'll have a look to try and get hold of an emulator for it... (I wish to remedy the heinous siuation that is my lack of Elite experience)

EDIT: Hold up, I've struck gold! If you want to try and download Elite, click here, but you'll need to register though. Don't know if the games from this site actually run, not tested any yet.

LOL - Not quite. It was a state of the art immersive space simulator that put you at the helm of a Cobra Mk III starship!!! You could be a bounty hunter, a drugs smuggler an explorer or a reputable interstellar HGV driver...

It's 20 years old now, but at the time there hadn't been anything like it it was leaps and bounds ahead of anything else, and on the BBC made use of the analogue joysticks that we take for granted these days, but back then it was literally magic.
