Ok, as you know, i don't work... but i know what irritates me about my hubby's job...

1. His company think he has no life outside of the company and think nothing of lumbering him with extra work or sending him on useless courses which means more work, so any family plans go out of the window.

2. When some of his colleagues want to take time off work, the first person they ask is Ray, because they know he'll cover for them, this entails a 12 hour shift, when he goes to work before the kids get up and is back home when the youngest is in bed and is too knackered to give them any real proper attention. The plus side is the overtime, more money.. BUT what really bugs me is when he wants to take time off, all of a sudden his colleagues can't cover He's getting tougher now but it used to make me so angry at times!!!.

Customers that ask you really stupid questions such as "Is
that really buy one get one free son?" when there's a massive 6ft poster next to the product saying Buy One Get One Free on it....nah course not we just thought that poster looked better than the wallpaper

The answer to that is "yes it is B.O.G.O.F." but say it really quickly so it sounds like "yeah na bogof"

Being back at work after such an ace party!

I've totally got the come back to work blues after such a good weekend. Anyone else feel like that?

We need a twice yearly T-party

Asking for half a day to go to a funeral and being told you can only have 2 hours and you have to make the time up before Friday

We used to have a really mean and annoying "manager".
Now we don't.
Cos his manager got an e-mail shopping him for downloading and watching porn at work - during business hours no-less!
Now he's unemployed, and our new manager is very well behaved.

When some /expletive-deleted/ backstabbing co-worker starts telling the boss that you dont pull your weight when you're working your socks off, and said co-worker isn't being asked to balance two jobs (support and long term project work) at once.

If I dont spend enough time on project work, my boss digs me about it, when I spend more time on project work, co-worker goes crying to boss how im not doing enough support work....its a no win situation.

He think's I just need to learn to 'cope', I said, no, all my working hours of the day are filled and if that is not good enough, TOUGH.

Just a thought, but how many respondees here are not in IT or tech support?

I'm not a tekkie! Haven't quite decided what I am yet.

The thing that's bugged me most about management consultancy is managers/partners/principals who sell woefully under-resourced projects or over-promise on what we can actually deliver, requiring the team to damn near kill itself to meet deadlines and expectations.

Of course, not a major concern for me any more right now
