Have somehow managed to avoid hearing this record at all so far. Might have to catch ToTP to see what all the fuss is about.

And as I never watched Pop Idol I have no idea what he's like, but if Hearsay are anything to go by, give him a year and we'll be asking 'Will who?' (For those that don't already!)

It was pointed out (by Rik Waller) on Virgin Radio this morning, having been given the same comparison, that Will was voted by the people and while people are fickle creatures, he has both the voice and the character to be a star for years to come.

A lot of people have the potential to be stars - look at the ones who get catapulted from nowhere like Jayne McDonald or even Jonathon Ross, who only ended up presenting the Last Resort by accident. So it's perfectly reasonable to believe that Will has what it takes to succeed in the long term. What he'll struggle to do is establish an identity of his own, to escape from the Pop Idol tag. If he can't do that then he's doomed.

I personaly think Will has the talent personality and the voice to do well

I must admit, like DJ Billy, I don't find myself turning the radio off when I hear it but I wouldn't buy it myself. He does have genuine talent. And he also seems to have his feet firmly planted on the ground.

I really dont like this song at all!! Certainly wont be buying it!

I don't tend to buy singles, but I'll probably be buying his album as I really like his voice.

The song is okay, but I preferred just about every song he sang on the show (yeah, I watched it ALL!!) to the ones on the single.

Haven't really got an opinion on it.

At the end of the day if he can make his own mark in the pop world then I'm sure he'll do well as he was voted for by the public.

We shall have to wait and see....

I've heard this song a couple of times but I have to say I prefer the original Westlife version far more. I never really watched Pop Idol although I saw the final but it looks as though Pop Idol will launch the career of quite a few people(Darius and Rik to name a couple) but I don't think Will will be a success. I just feel that he's been really hyped by the media and that his next single will be a top 5 effort and then goodbye Will...I seriously doubt any of the other Pop Idols will manage to sustain a long career in pop music either and in about a years time whoever wins Pop Idol 2 will probably be sitting at number 1 thanks to the media. Thats my 2 pence worth anyway.

Okay so I dont like pop idol or will.. In my opinion I think its pap!
I have a deeper rooted problem with pop idol and its resulting star. The single is ordinary pop parp created to sell and not to try and create something new and/or inovative... Its indicative of the music industry as a whole in that money comes first and creative thought second...

But if you like it then fair enough... I just dont

I don't like the single - doesn't suit his voice at all - however fair play to him (and I like him alot) he's taken a crap song and had a good go at it. I expect his album will be cracking - if he gets the right songs. He can sing.

It has to be said that he really anit your average pop singer - he was on Radio 4s midweek this morning! How many times do you hear that about the chap at number 1!

I didnt pay attention to the whoel Pop Idol thingy. But has anyone heard the guy that got rejected from it? The one thats done a cover of Whitneys 'I will always love you'?

Like a number of thers I have yet to hear this song. I just didn't get hooked on Popstars this time around. Might be because of the huge number of this type of show, which have appeared of late,

Well, I thought the first A side (Evergreen?) was particularly bland. But then I find Will Young pretty bland.

As for long term success, he won't fade away straight away - give it a couple of years - but I can't honestly see him following in the footsteps of Madonna/Kylie/Robbie.

Managed to totally miss the whole PopStar's and PopIdol thing.
(That'll teach ITV not to be on SKY - at the time)

Can't say I'm very impressed by it at all. I never watched the whole Pop Idol thing - well, I'll own up to catching the final but that's it! 'lol'

I couldn't really believe the 2 finalists - to me they were nothing special at all, but well, that's just my own humble opinion. I personally think they will all be a flash in the pan - but good luck to 'em!
